Methods of Assigning Cost to a Fixed Asset in X3

Fixed asset charges can be passed from accounts payable to the fixed asset
module for assignment.

Step 1: Enter in the Supplier Invoice for the Fixed Asset

Go to AP-AR Accounting/ Invoicing/ Supplier Invoices

The fixed asset invoices are entered in the standard manner with the
following exceptions
o Account: specify applicable fixed asset GL account
o Purchase type: set to Fixed Asset
o Comment: define fixed asset description or project #
Once the invoice is entered click on Create and then on Validate.

Step 2: Method 1 of Assigning the Invoice Cost to the Fixed Asset

The first method of assigning the invoice cost to the fixed asset involves
simply clicking on the Fixed Asset button while in the invoice menu.

At this next pop-up menu right click in the Fixed Asset field and select the
fixed asset against which these charges should be applied.
Click on OK

The user will then receive a message indicating that the fixed asset has been
updated.

The user will then be directed to the fixed asset record.
On the Acquisition tab one can identify the charges that were just applied.

Step 3: Method 2 of Assigning the Invoice Cost to the Fixed Asset

Go to Fixed Assets/ Fixed Assets

Under this assignment method go to the Acquisition tab of the fixed asset to
which you wish to assign the charges.
Select the first open line
Source: BPs ( to denote a supplier invoice)
Type: typically PIN (standard invoice type)
Invoice number: select the applicable voucher number
Line: if there is more than one line on the invoice specify applicable line
otherwise let this field be set to 1
The rest of the line item information should default from the invoice
