lead us and heading to the room which they played a video presentation of the company. Mainly
about the history of Gardenia like how did they started, how are they doing now, and how did
they manage to be on top in the baking industry. She also talks about how important to them the
nutrition of their consumers and how important is sanitation to this industry. She even pointed
out so many times that they have the most modern bread factory in the country that they're
proud to say that they are "baking breads untouched by human hands.

Our tour guide share some pointers on how they maintain or how we can prolong the freshness
of our breads:

Air dries out the bread. So, after we get our needed slice/s, it is recommended to re-seal again
the pack.

If possible, save the top slice of the loaf and use it as a cover of the remaining loaf.

Keep the bread out of hot areas because it may cause the bread to moisten which may lead to
premature molding. Store your bread in a cool and dry place.

She even recommends to put it inside the refrigerator. Then if you are planning to eat it, just
reheat in toaster the slices you needed.

Keep it away from items that emit odors because breads absorb odors.

Make sure that your hands are clean. Bacteria can also cause premature molding.

Insights: Gardenia Philippines was one of the amazing company that we visit. Gardenia pull out
their breads on their respective re-sellers every 2-days, replacing it with new ones. So there are
no waste of breads. Beside on the sales they also have their foundation to donate some of their
breads and also they sell pull out their breads.

EXPERIENCED, LEARNED, REALIZATION

LRTA discussed the OCC or the operation control center it is the brain or the heart of the
LRTA system considering that is the center of communication. Its role is to ensure safe and
efficient train movements, management of electrical power and satisfaction of its stakeholder.
The LRTA showed us their control room which speaker discussed the uses and the purpose of
every equipment in the control room. They toured us in their company and we like them
because they are very approachable and friendly.

GMA Network showed us their equipments on how they operate live and on air, how
they manage their equipments. And they showed us their Radio Station area on the AM station
DZBB and the FM station the Barangay LS , the studio where they conduct taping of different
shows, the studio of the Unang Hirit from studio 1 to studio 5.

We visited the PLDT INNOLAB on Baguio and the speaker discussed one by one the
help and the use of every set up equipment they had in that room. One of these was the
Contact Center Solution. And he also discussed why INNOLAB and more application that PLDT
used in monitoring and other purposes.

The PHIVOLCS monitors volcano, earthquake, and tsunami activity, and issues
warnings as necessary. The Speaker discussed the different equipment that can detect the
magnitude and intensity of the earthquake. It is mandated to mitigate disasters that may arise
from such volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, and other related geotectonic
phenomena. It is very useful for us, so that we can predict whats going to happen and to warn
us and on the disaster that will come.

The IBB showed us their control room, and other high powered, high voltage rooms and
equipments. They have their own laboratory room where they can fixed, innovate and test the
parts of their equipments such us the equipments made up of copper. And their team has a
pleasant personality in short they were very approachable and friendly.

One Subic Power Plant Generation Corporation showed us their equipment that can
produced and stored 16,000 litter of diesel and they have 8 of these machine. They also have a
control room where they can detect and monitor the machine or the equipment if it is
malfunctioning and other possible defects.

PAGASA Subic records and deliver reports of the weather and updates weather to help
on the landing operation of the aircraft. Through monitoring the installed radar of the PAGASA
like the water level monitoring sensor and the Rain Gauge System they can monitor the water
level and the rainfall through this equipment.

The CAAP is the responsible in all the equipment that used in communicating with the
aircraft. In this case we are not new to some of their equipment because we already done
discussing some types of their equipment in our class. They also installed radar in different
place which is hard to go up there so we did not go up there because it is dangerous for us to
go there. They also showed us their different equipment that monitoring data and feed to their
monitors for the information needed by them.

The management from Subic Bay International Airport discussed us the history of the
Airport. They also developing the said Airport and buy some equipments like the ILS which is
million cost. But instead to have this ILS they decided to buy equipment GBAS or Ground Base
Augmentation System. GBAS is a system that provides differential corrections and integrity
monitoring of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). GBAS provides navigation and
precision approach service in the vicinity of the host airport at approximately 23 nautical mile
radius. Broadcasting its differential correction message via a very high frequency (VHF) radio
data link from a ground-based transmitter. And less cost than 1 ILS and it is good enough to use
than the ILS.

In the Gardenia Philippines what caught attention more, on her talk was when she
discussed how they make sure that we, consumers, get the fresh bread possible and how
Gardenia reaching out to help our society. Gardenia breads freshness can last up to 14 days but
they only indicate on the G-lock (Gardenia's seal/loaf seal) 7 days for best before days. They
also pull out their breads on their respective re-sellers every 2-days, replacing it with new ones.
Yes, they did not wait until the bread reach its 7th day before they replace it. The pull out breads
(which we can still consider quality breads) are being sold to fishermen and to the charity of the
company. These are made into food for cultured fishes (like bangus, tilapia, etc).

Tsukiden showed us their working rooms where their hundred machines located. I
learned from them that they have a contribution in manufacturing some part of the device such
as projector of the Epson Company. I learned that not all of the part of the product of company
that produces electronics product are all made in their manufacturing company but some of the
parts like PCB are assembled by Tsukiden Philippines. It was amazing because they produce a
thousand PCB every hour and every day. And the company gives more opportunity to other and
they give good practice to their employees.
