Assessment
Assessment CARBs executive determines whether the complaint
or matter arising is a disciplinary matter.

Investigation
Investigation CARBs executive conducts an investigation into the
disciplinary matter.

Case to answer

A decision is made as to whether or not the
member has a case to answer is made by
either the Head of Professional Conduct or
the Conduct Committee.
No case to answer Case to answer +
A decision of no case to answer can be
consent order reviewed independently if the complainant
wishes.

Independent review A decision of case to answer will either be


referred to a Disciplinary Tribunal or an order
will be made, if the member consents to it.

Disciplinary Disciplinary Tribunal


Tribunal A Disciplinary Tribunal decides whether the case has been
proven on the balance of probabilities and makes findings
and orders against the member accordingly.

Appeal Tribunal
Appeal Tribunal An Appeal Tribunal hears any appeal brought by the
member and will either uphold or dismiss the decision of
the Disciplinary Tribunal. It may then make findings and
orders as it sees fit.
