The Facts

Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Louis D. Brandeis

In 1969, best friends, classmates, and roommates Leon Kanner, 21,
and Edward Joffee, 22, went shopping for supplies for a botanical field
trip. They removed a can of candy from the shelf of the Supersol Su-
permarket in Jerusalem, and a bomb went off blowing them to bits
and injuring 9 other shoppers preparing for the Sabbath.
Rasmea Yousef Odeha member of the Popular Front for the Libera-
tion of Palestinewas arrested for the crime, confessed a day later in a
detailed account. Other co-conspirators also quickly confessed.
After arrest, Odeh defended herself in military court, where she was
represented by counsel. An observer from the International Red Cross
was present for the trial, and certified afterwards that the trial was fair.
Odeh served 10 years in prison until she was released in 1980 in a
mass prisoner swap for one Israeli soldier. She later on moved to the
U.S. where she was granted citizenship in 2004.
On Nov. 10, 2014, a federal jury in Detroit returned a guilty verdict
against Odeh for illegally procuring naturalization by falsely answering
questions whether she "EVER" had been convicted or imprisoned. She
claimed that she didnt understand the meaning of ever, that the
Israeli conviction was unjust, and that PTSD caused her to forget about
her prison term.
Odeh was granted a retrial, which was scheduled to be held in Detroit
in May 2017. In the interim, Odeh and radical groups attempted to rec-
reate her history and her image. Odeh is being portrayed by anti-Israel
groups as a victim of Zionist oppression.

StandWithUs and others countered her misinformation, and on March

23, 2017, Rasmea Yousef Odeh made a plea agreement in which she is
stripped of her citizenship and now faces deportation.

I have a nice friendwe live and study together at the university We Remember Them

Sylvan Kamens & Rabbi Jack Riemer

At the rising sun and at its going down;

We remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter; We
remember them.
At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring; We
remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of
summer; We remember them.
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of the au-
tumn; We remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends;
We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a
part of us as We remember them.

Israels revenge against decades of terror attacks is that

we are still here.

wings of the Shechinah (Divine Presence), in the exalted spheres of the
holy and pure, who shine as the resplendence of the firmament, to the
souls of Edward and Leon who have gone to their [supernal] world, for
charity has been donated in remembrance of their souls; may their
places of rest be in Gan Eden. Therefore, may the All-Merciful One
shelter them with the cover of His wings forever, and bind their souls in
the bond of life. The Lord is their heritage; may they rest in their
resting-place in peace; and let us say: Amen.
