Design cycle:

Reflection on the 4 stages of design cycle:-

Inquiring and Analyzing: Inquiring and Analyzing is design process

where you select a problem and find the solutions of the problem
you selected after research and investigation.
Developing Ideas: Developing Ideas is a process where you write a
detailed specification which leads us to our solution.
Creating the Solution: Creating the Solution is process where plan
the creation of the product (also a prototype) which can be
evaluated.
Evaluating: Evaluating is a process where you evaluate the
success of the product by carrying multiple tests and here you
check the defaults you have made and the things you will do to
improve your product.

Identify the problem/issue/topic will you inquire?

The problem I will inquire is preservation of culture, creating

awareness of preserving culture to develop this awareness i will
need to know about the percentage of people knowing about
culture and preservation. Knowing about preservation of culture
will allow my target audience to discover and analyze more about
Culture and preservation of it. It will allow people of all age groups
to know more about preservation of culture.

Justify the need for a solution to this problem? Explain your
point of view

People Now-a-days don't preserve their own culture and some have
already lost their culture so to preserve their culture to show
respect to the culture which have been lost we need a solution so i
have planned to make a website and a youtube video to show
people about the importance of preserving culture.

List the existing products you are aware of and analyze them

Some products that i have analyzed and am aware of our are some
youtube documentaries on preserving culture. The documentaries, main
aim was to spread awareness about culture and preserving them. From
my point of view the documentaries were a huge success as their were
many views on the youtube video and likes...So i have planned to create a
youtube video and a website so there will be information and picture in
the website and animation clip with spoken views on preserving cultural
heritage.

What is custom?
Custom is a practice that is common to many or to a particular
place or class or habitual with a person. Custom from a long and
unvarying habit, has become compulsory, and has acquired the
force of a law with respect to the place to which it relates.

What is a tradition?
Tradition is the passing down of beliefs, legends, customs,
information, etc from one generation to another. Tradition often
remains same over time.

What is a culture?
ulture is the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group

of people, defined by everything from language, religion, cuisine,
social habits, music and arts.

Which artifacts, customs and traditions demonstrate

cultural heritage?
Cultural heritage is the legacy of physical artifacts and intangible
attributes of a group or society that are inherited from past
generations, maintained in the present and bestowed for the benefit
of future generations. Cultural heritage includes tangible culture,
intangible culture, and natural heritage.

How do we preserve our cultural heritage?

How does design improve communication of personal /

cultural heritage?
Design helps us to get innovative ideas and solutions to the
problems we select. In the design cycle there are 4 stages which
help us see the process of effective communication of the solution
to our problem.

What is the function of design in personal / cultural

heritage?
Design can make innovative products for spreading or creating
awareness about cultural heritage. Design makes learners innovate
more products about cultural heritage.

Should we be concerned about losing our cultural

identity as we become global citizen?
No, we should preserve our culture with removing the parts of
culture which is certainly unimportant to our society. We should
preserve our good culture as we become global citizen.

Is the right to personal expression more important than

cultural sensitivity?
Change in society can only be brought through freedom of speech,
as that is how new religions, ideas and perspectives are born.
Freedom of expression is vital to bring about any sort of change in
society. People should realise that religion is someone's
relationship with God, and not something to flaunt to others. A
person belonging to a certain religious group should have enough
faith and maturity, that they don't take offence if someone
contradicts their personal beliefs. In my opinion, showing offence
and aggression to people who don't share your faith and decide to
question it, is a sign of weakness in your own faith.
Task 4 Design Brief
I am going to design and make a website that will make people
aware about preserving culture. Some surveys show that culture is
always neglected and is not preserved. Only a little majority of
people know about preserving culture.The website will be mobile
so that it can be shared from people to people, easy to learn and
know about preserving culture.
