Most common units in physics:

Length: A unit of length is any established length or distance that has a

constant measure that is used as a reference to show a linear
dimension(Worlds of physics, 2010). According to science world length is
defined as the straight-line distance between two points along an object.
(Scienceworld, 2007). The metre (m) is the SI base unit of length, which has
many standard prefixes to be easier to use it in different situations.
Mass: Mass is the property of a physical body, according physics. Mass is used
to tell how many matter there is in something, and in order to figure out how
many mass there is in something, we have to weigh it (Northwestern, 2009).
The SI base unit of mass is the kilogram (kg), and it is defined as the mass of
a particular international prototype made of platinum-iridium and kept at the
International Bureau of Weights and Measures. It was originally defined as the
mass of one liter (10-3 cubic meter) of pure water. (WhatIs, 2013).
Time: Time is the standard path to measure the duration of anything, and its
unit is a particular time interval. The Si base unit of time is the second (s), that
according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the second is
the duration of 9192631770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the
transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the cesium
133 atom (National Institute of Standards and Technology, 2007). Time is very
important is very important in physics for astronomic topics, for example to
measure the duration of the planet earth to rotate 360 around its axis, or the
time for the planet earth to give a lap to the sun.
Electric current: The base of units of electric current is a charge in motion. The
electric current is the controlled form of electricity from batteries, solar panels,
generators or fuel cellsLive science, 2012). The SI base unit is Ampere (A).
One ampere of current represents one coulomb of electrical charge (6.24 x
1018 charge carriers) moving past a specific point in one second. (WhatIs,
2007).
Thermodynamic Temperature: The thermodynamic temperature is the absolute
measure for temperature, which is one of the main parameters of
thermodynamics. Temperature is the average heat of the particles in a
substance. The SI base units of thermodynamic temperature is kelvin (K), and
One kelvin is formally defined as 1/273.16 (3.6609 x 10 -3 ) of the
thermodynamic temperature of the triple point of pure water (H 2 O). (WhatIs,
2007).
Amount of substance: Amount of substance is the dimensionless expressions of
a particular number of particles of a sample. The most common particles are
the atom, electrons, protons and

neutrons. The Si base unit of amount of substance is mole (mol), and One
mole is the number of atom s in precisely 12 thousandths of a kilogram (0.012
kg) of C-12, the most common naturally-occurring isotope of the element
carbon. (WhatIs, 2007).
Luminous Intensity: Luminous intensity is the the amount of the light power
form a source with an solid angle of one steradain (SI base unit of solid angular
measure). The SI base unit of luminous intensity is candela (cd), and is the
magnitude of an electromagnetic field , in a specified direction. (WhatIs,
2007).
