This week, I was able to work assist in several different departments such as
marketing, community engagement, and also with the AFL-CIO team. I was able to assist in
several projects in all of these departments and was able to quickly adapt to the surrounding
of the department. I was open to any new experiences this week considering that it was my
last week at United Way of Delaware.
I have learned that here at the United Way of Delaware, their departments are
continuously intertwining and crossing. One needs to be able to wear many hats within this
organization and wear it proudly. Being able to assist several departments was a great
leaning experience for me this week. I come from an agency where our departments do not
really ever cross so it is interesting to see different dynamics within an organization.
B. Analysis of your strengths and needs related to the performance of the duties of a
Human Services administrator.
I feel as if personally, I am a very open minded person which is helpful for a lot of
different reasonings. I am accepting of the fact that being a leader in the human service field
is not just about the title, its about the hats that you wear and how efficient you are at
wearing them. Despite how uncomfortable some tasks may be, I am very diligent and
believe in my capabilities as a leader and I think that will get me very far in the professional
setting.
I also believe that I tend to be personal within the professional setting; in a good
way. I always try to do little things around the workplace to make people have a better day. I
decided to write thank you cards for all three of my site supervisors before leaving on my
last day. They each consisted of personal notes describing how thankful I am for each and
every one of them. I feel as if even in the workplace, it is always the little things that matter
the most such as making people feel appreciated!
