Physics Workshops Term 4

Step 1

1. What is a fluid in Physics?

In physics fluid described as flow if gases or water, because it can fill a volume
and move around.
2. What are the differences of Fluid Static and Fluid Dynamics?

The basic different of these two is Fluid Static is at rest, Fluid Dynamic is in a
movement.

Step 2

1. How to define Density and Mass? Are they the same or different?

Density is Mass Divided by Volume Total Volume has this mass then it called
density. Mass is an equivalent sum/total of volume.
2. What is Specific Gravity is?

A measurement used to know the dense of an object.

Step 3

1. What is Pressure? How do you compare Pressure and Hydrostatic Pressure?

Pressure is a force that was applied on something in a certain area, Hydrostatic

Pressure is a force that was applied on something in a certain area that
involving fluid in gas or liquid.

2. How do you measure Pressure at a depth in a fluid? What does it called in

physics?

It used Hydrostatic Pressure, and the formula for it is P = r * g * h.

3. What is a barometer? How is it related to pressure?

Is a tool that was used to measure pressure in atmosphere, it used mercury for
the fluid as it more sensitive than the water counter-part.
4. How does barometer work?

It work by using air pressure the more air pressure it has the more higher the
bar (By using liquid called mercury to measure) raises.

Step 4

1. Explain Pascals Principle.

Where does Pascals Principle usually applied on daily life?
Pascal Principle is when you give a pressure on 1 sides of water that was
linked to another hole, the water will go to another hole.

It could be use in water pump the water from the ground go up.

2. Explain Buoyant Force and Archimedes Principle.

Where does Archimedes Principle usually applied on daily life?

Buoyant is the opposite force of gravity that exist in water, Archimedes

principle is if the weight of an object is higher than the buoyant it will drown
but if it the opposite it will not drown.

It can be applied to make a good ship and measure it weight so it will not
drown

3. What is Volume flow rate and Equation of Continuity?

Volume Flow Rate, rate to measure fluid dynamics/flow it show how fast the
fluid go, the equation is used to measure the speed of flow in kg/s. The
equation of Continuity is when a fluid flow the mass that enter is equal to the
mass out,

4. Explain Bernoullis Equation and Bernoullis Principle.

Where does Bernoullis Principle mostly applied on daily life?

The higher the pressure the lower the speed, the lower the pressure the higher
the speed.9

It can be used to lift and airplane.
