14. Place the retainer ring installer over the em


of the transmission shaft and slide the new re-
tainer ring down the tool to install the ring.
Make sure to seat the retainer ring in the grove
by sliding it down the transmission shaft as tar
as possible.

11. Place the new cam on top of the balls so
that the cam dog is to the right of the brake hub
dog at the 12 o'clock position when looking
down at it.

15. Install the unmarked pulley hub on the


transmission shaft. Thread the hub tool on the
transmission shaft, while holding the pulley
hub stationary, HAND TIGHTEN the hub tool to
FULLY SEAT THE HUB.. If necessary, protect
the pulley hub and use pliers to hold it station-
ary while tightening.

16. Lift up on the hub tool until you can clearly

17. Remove the hub tool and BRAKE COVER
PLATE tool. Install the new LGS spring by turn-
ing it counterclockwise and pushing down
firmly to seat it. When fully seated, the edge of
the spring should be below the top edge of the
pulley hub.

18. Install the pulley, pulley nut and belt, Re*


assemble and CHECK OPERATION,
TO CHECK:
ROTATE THE PULLEY CLOCKWISE WITH ONE
HAND, WHILE HOLDING THE TRANSMISSION
WITH THE OTHER. WHEN THE PULLEY IS RE-
LEASED IT SHOULD COME BACK TO ITS'
ORIGINAL POSITION.
