Standalone license activation is

the process that a single-user has

to perform to use the free version
of DraftSight.

Activation dialog box is grayed out, and the following messages appears on the
window, Activation server not available. Please check your internet connection.

Network is behind a proxy server and DraftSight
cannot get passed the proxy

Go to Control Panel > Internet Options >
Connections > LAN settings
Network is behind a firewall and DraftSight cannot

get passed firewall
Go to Control Panel > Windows Firewall

Add proxy information in DraftSight options
Go to Tools > Options > System Options
> General > Proxy server settings
Close DraftSight then reopen

Add DraftSight to the Windows Firewall software

Have not configured proxy server settings in DraftSight

Can no longer start DraftSight

Workaround:
PROCEED AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION! 2
1. Save and close your work as well as other software

running over the network.
2. Revert system date back to a time within the 30-day trial
period
a. Click on time in System Tray
b. Select Change date and time settings
c. Change date and time..
3. Launch DraftSight and configure your proxy server
settings in the Options menu (Refer to Scenario One
Solution) 1
4. Change system date back to correct date
5. Continue with DraftSight activation procedure

Symptom:
No Activation

Receiving Thank You Confirmation Message
Did you receive the Thank you confirmation message?

Thank you message confirms that information left system
Activation E-mail Filtered as spam or junk
Corporate e-mail filter may be blocking e-mail
Activation server under maintenance
Not Receiving Thank You Confirmation Message
Security software such as firewall, anti-virus software,
spyware software, or User Account Control (UAC) may be
blocking e-mail

Receiving Thank You Confirmation Message
Check your spam or junk mail folder

Corporate e-mail filter may be blocking activation
e-mails from: Activation@DraftSight.com
Contact IT Administrator to check if this is the case
Repeat the activation using a different e-mail
address
Activation server under maintenance
Repeat the activation later

Disable Security Software or create

an exclusions list if possible

search UAC in the search field

Lacking the proper permissions to activate
Logged in as a different user

Do not reset security settings till after successfully activating
Add DraftSight to firewall, anti-virus, or spyware software

Stay logged in as the same user
Activation is user-specific. Make sure you do not switch users.

Disabled firewall, anti-virus software, and other security software but still
cannot activate successfully
Symptoms
Added DraftSight to firewall, anti-virus, or other security software
exclusions list and still continue to receive the activation dialog box
Disabled all security software and closed all applications that may
hinder the activation and still continue to receive the activation dialog
box
Nothing obvious or visible hindering the activation

A service or software running in the
background may be blocking the activation
Might be running a network gateway

firewall for very secure environments

Try activating in Safe Mode
1. Reboot computer and continuously press

the F8 key until the Advanced Boot
Options screen appears
2. Choose Safe Mode with Networking
3. After OS loads in Safe Mode, proceed to
activate DraftSight
Note: Activation e-mail can be checked

from any machine

2. Launch DraftSight
3. In Resource Monitor, select
DraftSight.exe from the list of
running processes

5. Expand Network Activity, TCP Connections,
and Listening Ports

6. Look for DraftSight network activity, network
addresses, and remote ports trying to be
accessed.
7. Listening Ports: the Firewall Status column
can help identify blocked content.

1. Go to Options > Advanced settings or similar
