GATEGORIES OF APPLICANTS AND DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIP

Masters Degree Students2.5-3 academic years

Doctoral Degree Students3-4 academic years

1. The instruction language could be either Chinese or English. Applicants who apply for

courses instructed in Chinese are required to take one year Chinese language course prior to

the academic study if their Chinese is not qualified. Only by passing the examinations after

the Chinese language course, could they start their academic studies. Electric Power System

and Its Automation can be taught in English.

2. Scholarship students should complete their study within the set time; scholarship duration

specified in the admission notice CANNOT be extended in principle.

CRITERIA & ELIGIBILITY

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and be in good health.
2. Applicants must not be students in Chinese universities at the time of application (or at

least one year after graduation in China).

3. Education background and age limit:
- Applicants for masters degree studies must have bachelors degree and be under the age of

35.
- Applicants for doctoral degree studies must have masters degree and be under the age of 40.

APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
The applicants must fill in and provide the following documents truly, correctly and

completely (in duplicate)

1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (filled in Chinese or in English)
Applicants shall fill in and print the application form after submitting it online.
The CSC Online Application for Study in China is available in http://www.csc.edu.cn/Laihua/
Those who cannot apply online shall fill in the application form printed by CSC.
The Category is B, and the agency number of NCEPU is 10054.
2. Highest diploma (notarized photocopy). Applicants employed shall provide proof of

studying on application. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be

attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

3. Academic transcripts (notarized photocopy): Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or

English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

4. Photocopy of Passport
5. Guarantor Form and Photocopy of Guarantors ID
6. No Criminal Record Certificate
7. HSK Certificate (for Chinese taught program)
8. Study or research plan: in Chinese or in English, no less than 800 words.
9. Recommendation letters: Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from

professors or associate professors.

10. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (the original copy should be kept by

the applicant. The form printed by Chinese quarantine authority could be downloaded from

http://www.csc.edu.cn).
11. Guardian Certificate and Copy of Guardians ID (Students whose ages are under 18)
The above original documents must be attached with English or Chinese translation, and the

translation must be stamped by the issuing authority or translation company; all forms should

be completed in English or Chinese.
