Both Grahn and Wright agree that Maurice Benard (Sonny) should have made
the Lead Actor list. Im still in shock that my partner was not nominated, sighs
Wright. I saw his reel; it was incredible. I thought I would have a harder time
getting nominated than him. Thats how great his reel was.
Adds Grahn: I dont know how these things work anymore. Maurice had a
good year, too. You just dont know whats what.
Can You Watch The Emmys On TV?

At press time, a broadcast announcement had yet to be
made, but In Depth hears that a deal is close to being nal-

experiences and people who have
touched my life. It has shaped me in ev-

But when she read the scene without it, the
part was hers. They said they knew in that
moment that I was the one for the role! I
did the scene and had this lisp, she recalls.
The next day, they called my grandma
and told her that I had the part!
I remember the cover shoots because

they had fruits and muffins, Grimes
recounts with a smile. And they had music, so I could
dance and be silly. Whats really nice is when youre that young, theres no vanity.
I wasnt concerned about the way I looked or what I was wearing. I just had a good time. I look on
those days fondly, because now I stop eating three days before a shoot!

of Cassie marrying after she was killed. This
was a couple of weeks or a month after Cassie
died, recalls the actress. When Cassie flatlined
on screen, there was no good-bye party. But
this day, they surprised me with a good-bye
party. I knew that I would be coming back for
this episode. It was very emotional. Its not like
I knew I would be coming back seven years
later! This was my last day, and as far as I knew,

was a little bittersweet because the

recently passed away. Jeanne taught me to

to be as a woman. She was powerful, she
knew her own worth and her strengths. She
was no-nonsense and took charge of her
destiny. She was a force to be reckoned with,
which comes along once in a lifetime! You
always hope to live your life as big and
dramatically as she lived it!
I hadnt done comedy before, and Greg

[Rikaart, Kevin] schooled me! Grimes
declares. Its not that I didnt know how
to do it, but he put me in a place where I
felt comfortable doing it, comfortable
enough to let go and allow it to come
naturally. I owe him a lot from those first
few months!
I never worked with Bryton [James, Devon] and

Mishael [Morgan, Hilary] before, so theres this pause
and apprehension when you work with someone for
the first time, the Y&R vet reveals. Its like, Are we
going to get along? Is this going to go well? For me, it
couldnt have gone better. Mishael and Bryton are so
much fun to work with probably, we have too much
fun! The directors are probably like, Have less fun! But
were constantly laughing, and that makes for a fun
environment at work.
