BACKGROUND
As the Bank of America building located at 100 SE 6” Avenue has become available for
purchase, the City Council has expressed an interest in examining the potential of that fcity to
serve as a City HallPolice Station, as well as investigating the feasibity ofa standalone
FirefEMS facilly. In order to examine these projects, the City solicited a Request for
Qualifications (RFO) to retain the services of an architecture fem. Ten arentecture firms
responded to the RFQ and the City Council approved a recommendation from the Counell Bond
Committe that BRW be selected as the preferred architec to help us with the feasibiity
analysis noted above. Attached please find a Letter Agreement from BRW identifying the
Scope of Services associated with this acinvty, as well a the cost attributable to each phase of
Work involved. The Letter Agreement proposes a fee nat to exceed $48,000 to provide the full
array of services that il include an existing conditions survey ofthe Bank of America building,
‘reprogramming and reconfiguration of the space within the Bank of America bulking, concept
design, and cost estimates associated with renovation of the subject Bank of America bulging.
Additionally, the Scope of Services proposes the programming, conceptual design layout and
‘timated construction cect aceociated with a now standalone Fire/EMS facity. Staff has
reviewed the Letter Agreement and concurs thatthe Scope of Services is appropriate forthe
projects being considered. Therefor, itis recommended the City Counel approve the
tenclosed resolution which would authorize execution ofthe subject Letter Agreement with BRW
Architects in order to proceed with the feasibility analysis ofthe Bank of America building. as,
