Abstract:
The recent severe energy crisis has forced the world to develop new and
alternative methods of power generation, which could not be adopted so far due
to various reasons. The magneto-hydro-dynamic (MHD) power generation is one
of the examples of a new unique method of power generation. The other non-
conventional methods of power generation may be such as solar cells, fuel cells,
thermo-electric generator, thermionic converter, solar power generation, wind
power generation, geo-thermal energy generation, tidal power generation etc.

Introduction:
By using non-conventional energy source we made a solar car for the
purpose of saving fuel and reducing the environmental pollution. Solar is a huge
storage of energy which provide use the thousands of megawatt energy daily. By
using this energy we design a solar car which runs with solar power which is
environmental friendly fuel, with low initial cost and available in large quantity.

Solar penal :
Solar penal is device which converts solar energy into electrical energy.
Here we use solar penal with following specifications

Max. power (Pmax) 3W

Voltage at Pmax (Vmp) 8.7 V
Current at Pmax (Imp) .36 A
Open circuit voltage (Voc) 11.0 V
Short circuit current (Isc) .37 A
Standard test condition 25 degrees
Toy car:
For the manufacturing of solar car we buy a toy car which have
following specifications
Power 3.6 W
Voltage 6V
Current 0.6 A

Backup battery:
We use a 3 cells backup battery as energy storage. We can use tis
battery power at cloudy times or night times when solar power does not
available.
IC circuit:
As we mention before that the driving voltage of car is 6 V. But we
have Battery and solar penal both are rated as 12 V. So we use IC circuit
for regulating the Voltages.
This IC name as IC7805

This IC7805 have following specifications

Diodes :
The most common function of a diode is to allow an electric current to
pass in one direction.
Button:
Here we use 2 way small button which is functional in both
directions in on direction it connects the car with battery and on other
direction it connects car with solar penal while remains neutral at
midpoint.
Remote:
The basic purpose of remote is to run the car forward as well
as backward and to turn the car.

Summery:
It is a hybrid solar car which is powered by solar plates. We also
attach solar plate to the rechargeable storage cells which are drawn from
the laptop battery. The solar pates charge the storage cell as well as run
the car. We connected a two way switch on one side,car works with solar
while on the other side, it works in the way that storage cells are
recharged by the solar panel firstly then this power used to run the car.
