Therefore the rhyme pattern for a limerick is always the last words of the first,
second, and fifth lines all rhyme with each other and the third and fourth lines
rhyme with each other.
Step 5 Show second poem example and then YouTube Video
Step 6 Group the students to work with a partner. They will work for 15 minutes making
their own limerick poem. They will then post it on Edmodo when they are finished
Step 7 After the groups are done, read examples from Edmodo to the class. They will
be displayed on the SmartBoard.
Step 8 End with more examples of limerick poems. Some of the poems are familiar to
the students but they may have not known that they were limerick poems.
Step 10 Feedback from the class on what we could have improved on and what they
liked. Also, constructive feedback from our group on what was hardest to do to
make the lesson and how we could improve.
