SPE PROPOSAL

OBJECTIVE:
The objective is to organize an inauguration event for RTU SPE
student chapter.

OVERVIEW:

Society of petroleum engineering is an organization that helps


petroleum scholars to connect with the professionals and
evolve their skills and knowledge. The RTU SPE student chapter
began in session 2015-16. An inauguration event is now being
organized by the officials and volunteers for boosting the
interest of students in the activities and the events organized
by the chapter.

The events included in the inauguration are as follows

1. Expert lecture
2. Quiz competition
3. Rock identification
4. Case study
5. Contour modelling
6. Sports
7. Mud Preparation
8. Poster Presentation
9. Group Decision

1.Expert lecture:

Venue: VC secretariat

Date : 05.03.2017 & 06.03.2017

A expert lecture will be held on 16 & 17 September,2016. Given


by Mr. ................................ on topic................................ at VC
secretariat.

2. Quiz competition:

Venue: PTP computer lab.

Date : 05.03.2017

The quiz consists of two levels. First level would be a general


aptitude test. Students qualifying the first round will be
promoted to the second round.

The second round will consist of a test related to subjects of


core petroleum. Test will be objective.

3. Rock identification:
Venue : Geology lab

Date : 05.03.2017

Students participating would be judged on the bases of their


geological knowledge. First round will have objective test on
geology.

10 qualifying students will be promoted to next round of rock


identification.

In the second round student will be given rock samples. They


have to identify the rock and its property. Venue for second
round will be geology lab. Rock samples need to provided from
the geology lab.

4. Case study :

Venue : VC secretariat

Date : 06.03.2017

A case will be given to the participants. Students have to study


the case and identify the problems that occurred and give
solution to mitigate the problem.

The participant giving the most appropriate answer will be


declared as winner.
5.CONTOUR MODELING :

Venue : B-202

Date : 06.03.2017

Students participating would be judged on the bases of their


contour modelling. First round will have objective test on
contour modelling knowledge.10 qualifying students will be
promoted to next round of clay modelling.

In the second round student will be given clay. They have to


identify the rock and its property.

6.Sports :

Venue :

Date : 05.03.2017 & 06.03.2017

7.Mud Prepration

Venue: DFC lab & D-202

Date: 06-03-2017

Students participating would be judged on the bases of their


drilling fluid knowledge. First round will have objective test on
drilling fluid.10 qualifying students will be promoted to next
round of numerical problem.

In the second round student will be given numerical problem.


They have to solve the problem.

In third round student will have to prepare the drilling mud of


given properties.
8.Poster presentation

Venue: B Block

Date: 06-03-2017

It gives all student opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge


and research work.

9.Group Decision

Venue: B 202

Date: 06-03-2017

It will give all student opportunity to showcase their leadership


capability.
