investigador en oceanografía

CARACTERÍSTICAS DEL CARGO

Investigador asistente jornada completa con especialidad en Oceanografía

RESPONSABILIDADES DEL CARGO

El/la candidato/a seleccionado/a trabajará en alguno(s) de los temas científicos del

Centro (ver www.copas.udec.cl) y principalmente en la recopilación de la información
científica generada por el Centro COPAS desde sus inicios que conlleve a una síntesis
y publicación sobre los avances recientes en el entendimiento de la oceanografía del
Pacífico Sur-Oriental. El cargo es de jornada completa por el periodo de 12 meses y
está disponible de inmediato. El salario líquido anual es de aproximadamente CH$ 18
millones, dependiendo de las calificaciones y experiencia del postulante.

REQUISITOS PARA POSTULAR:

• Poseer Grado académico de Doctor en ciencias oceanográficas o área
relacionada, y de preferencia con adiestramiento postdoctoral
• Acreditar experiencia en investigación a través de publicaciones en revistas de
especialidad y participación en proyectos de investigación con financiamiento
nacional o extranjero
• Demostrada experiencia/conocimiento de procesos oceanográficos
• Capacidad para trabajar en equipos multi e interdisciplinarios
• Excelente manejo del idioma inglés

Assistant Researcher in Oceanography, COPAS Center, Concepción, Chile

The Center for Oceanographic Research in the eastern South Pacific (COPAS) of the
University of Concepción (UDEC), Chile, invites applications for a full-time 12-month
Assistant Research position in Oceanography.

The successful candidate will work closely with members of the COPAS Center in one
(or more) of the scientific areas of the Center and primarily in the compilation and
publication of scientific information generated by the COPAS Center over the past 8
years. The ultimate goal is to generate a synthesis on the recent advances in the
understanding of the oceanography of the eastern South Pacific.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Oceanography or a closely related field;

postdoctoral experience is desirable

Demonstrated experience in oceanographic research through publications and
participation in scientific projects

Demonstrated experience/knowledge on ocean processes

Effective communication and inter-personal skills to work within multi- and
interdisciplinary teams

Excellent English-language communication skills, both oral and written

annual income is in the vicinity of USD$35,000 (approx. Ch$18 million) depending on
