PROJECT DESIGNER

DS Architecture is committed to building a multi-discipline staff with diverse talent and expertise

PURPOSE
DS Architecture seeks the right individual for the position of Project Designer for our Municipal
Police/Fire/Administration Studio where we design for service and safety.

Public facilities belong to the community. Our projects for public entities reflect our dedication to
designing buildings that invite and welcome the citizens they serve and that protect and support
those who work in them.

Engaging all critical parties in the process of design produces a building that is both functional as
well as a source of community pride. Our studio team leads this collaboration and guides the
process with expertise and confidence that is grown from experience.

Candidates should be capable of being part of a project team and have a strong understanding of
projects from the conceptual design phase through the construction documents phase. Our
design culture encourages collaboration, commitment and excitement leveraging each persons
unique skills to create successful projects. A paramount attribute of any staff member is the
ability to work in partnership successfully with the entire team and to have fun.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Professional Architectural or Interior Design degree from an accredited university
Proficient in AutoCad and REVIT
Google Sketch Up knowledge
Adobe Creative Cloud competency

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (NOT MANDATORY)


NCARB certificate holder
LEED Accredited Professional
Registered Architect

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must have the ability to show strong competence in understanding of methods
and materials of construction technology and methodology
Candidate should have experience working in a professional architectural firm
Willingness to be part of a team approach and have a cooperative attitude
Candidate should have a strong desire to improve his/her knowledge of the architectural
design process as well as a goal of personal growth within both the technical and design
aspects of this process

FIRM PROFILE
Founded as a sole proprietorship by David L. Sommers in 1983, and joined by Jeffrey Meyers to
form a partnership in 2010, the firm of DS Architecture has grown into a dynamic team of
professionals committed to our work.

Principal Architects David Sommers and Jeffrey Meyers lead our diverse team of 22 individuals
which includes: 11 Registered Architects, 2 Interior Designers, 8 Technical Staff and 1
Administrative Personnel.
