To whom it may concern,

I have had the pleasure of knowing Sylvia Gonzalez in both an academic and workplace setting. During the
2016-2017 school year, Sylvia has been enrolled in the R.O.P. Careers with Infants and Toddlers class and
has had the opportunity to work with infants from 6 weeks old to toddlers age 3. She has been a
tremendous asset to our program and it is an honor to be able to write a letter of recommendation for her.

As a student, Sylvia is ambitious, hard working and a perfectionist. All of her work is done with pride and
she strives for excellence in all that she does. Prior to taking this class, Sylvia was enrolled in a Child
Development class at Merced High School where she gained an immense amount of knowledge that enables
her to be successful in this program. In the future, Sylvia plans on becoming an elementary school teacher
and she uses this class, and previous Child Development classes, as a building block for her future career.

I have also had the opportunity to observe Sylvia in her work placement at the East Campus Child
Development Center. As a childcare assistant, Sylvia is dedicated, responsible, passionate and engaging.
An integral piece of this class and work placement is creating age and developmentally appropriate activities
for the children. Sylvia is amazing at creating activities that meet all areas of development and promote
sensorimotor exploration. She puts a lot of thought and time into creating these activities and each has
proven to be a success.

Sylvia is wonderful with all of the children, interacting with each one appropriately and meeting individual
needs. She is compassionate and very warm with the children and they respond to her kind nature. Sylvia
has taken the knowledge she has gained in the classroom and put it into action in the Child Development
Center. It is exciting to see Sylvia grow and mature into a confident and competent caregiver.
I highly recommend Sylvia for any and all positions available to her. It is my belief that she will rise to the
occasion wherever she may be placed and will be an asset to any employer. If you have further questions
regarding Sylvias abilities, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Sarah Wass
