1. Pre-Teaching Activities
1.1 Pre-Task Activity (Pictures with Questions)
The teacher shows 2 pictures of singers. These 2 first pictures do not have the singers
names.

The teacher asks the


students to guess who
they are.
1. Do you know about the women in those pictures?
2. Are you familiar with them?
3. What are they jobs?
The teacher shows those pictures with the singers name and tells about who the
singers are in those pictures and what their songs that the students are familiar with.

Teach Vocabulary (Elicit the Words by Showing Pictures)

The teacher shows some pictures to the students. The pictures are to demonstrate
the meaning of the words. Each question will have 2 pictures. The first one is the
clue and the second one is the singer.
The students have to guess what the pictures mean.

1.3 Prediction (Predict from Key Words)

The teacher give some key words to the students:


1. Similar sounds of the first word and the last word
2. Writing down the song lyrics in different sentences but it has still the same
meaning.
The students will guess 2 things will be in this lesson. And the teacher will write it
on the board.

2.1 Presenting the Materials
The teacher explains about rhymes and paraphrasing.
2.2 Listening Practice Activity
2.2.1 Mix and Match (Group Work)
The teacher devides the class into 5 group.
The teacher gives some papers to the students in groups. There will be song lyrics
on the papers, but the lyrics do not in the right arrangement. The students should
arrange the lyrics. Each group will get 1 verse of the lyrics to arrange into the right
arrangement.
The teacher will play the song and the students will arrange the lyrics while the
song is playing.
If they have finished arrange the song, the teacher and the students will sing the
song together.
There will be the different song lyrics behind the papers. The teacher will play the
song and the students will sing together.
After they sing together, the students should match the correct paraphrase of the
lyrics from the options.
Each group will ask 1 volunteer from their groups to tell the paraphrase and the
volunteers should not tell the same paraphrase.
2.2.2 Spot the Mistakes (Group Work)
The teacher devides the class into groups of 5.
The teacher will give some papers and cards to the students. There will be song
lyrics on the papers, but the lyrics are different with the real one because there are
some wrong rhymes. And the correct rhymes are on the cards.
The teacher will play the song and the students should spot the mistakes of the
lyrics on the papers and change the wrong rhymes with the correct ones while they
are listening to the song.
If they have finished, they will sing together and the teacher will corrrect their
answer.
The teacher asks the students to look at behind the paper. There will be a box.
The teacher will ask the students to write down the paraphrase of the song lyrics,
but the teacher will devide the lyrics and each group will get the different lyrics.
Each group will choose one volunteer for presenting the paraphrase they have
done.
3. Post-Task Activities
3.1 Group Quiz Competition
The teacher will give some blank spaces to the groups and each group should have
a writer.
The teacher will tell some questions and the students should write down the
answers on the papers.
1. What is the similar sounds between the first word and the last word of a sentence
in a song/poem?
2. The activity when you write down the song lyrics with your own sentences
without changing the meaning is....
3. As sly as a fox, as strong as an... The correct rhyme according to the first song
is....
4. (The teacher shows the picture based on song lyrics). What is the meaning of the
picture?
5. As quiet as bleep, as big as a house. What is the correct rhyme for the lyrics
based on the first song?
If the students have finished, the students will raise up the paper. (The fastest and
the correct one is the winner)
The winner is the group with the most correct answers.
3.2 Poster (In Group)
The teacher gives some cards and pictures to the students.
The teacher will play the song and the students should design a poster using the
cards and the pictures based on their imaginations of the song.
The students as the volunteer of each group will show their poster in front of the
class.
F. Evaluation
The teacher gives some papers to the students. There will be some questioner.
The students give score 1-9 as the evaluation for the teacher.
The students will submit the papers to the teacher.
