Erection of swing stage Scaffold collapse or failure Contractor, will oversee the
Scaffold. assembly of the scaffold and the training
given to employees who will be working on it.
Britton has 20 years of experience with this
specific type of scaffolding.
Connection points of the scaffold shall be
evaluated by a competent person to confirm
that the supporting surfaces are capable of
withstanding the loads to be imposed.
All cable connections to be checked daily.
Automatic and manual braking device to be
checked daily.
Counter weight or alternate attachment
assembly to be inspected prior to use
each day before starting procedure.
Scaffold to be erected and maintained
according to manufacturers specifications.
Operation of scaffolding Scaffold collapse or failure Do not overload scaffold.
Operation of scaffolding Trips and falling Excess debris shall not be allowed to
accumulate on scaffold.
Frost, ice, or snow will be removed from
scaffold plank before use.
Working on scaffold Trips and falling Ladders will not be used inside the scaffold.
Operation of scaffolding Trips and falling All workers on the scaffold will be protected
by rope grab personal fall arrest systems in
addition to the guardrail system. Rope grab
systems will be anchored to attachment
points independent of the swing stage and be
capable of withstanding 5,000 lb. impact
loads. These systems will be inspected at
least daily, and each time that any changes
or adjustments are made to either system.

Operation of scaffolding Equipment misuse Only authorized personnel that have been
trained to operate and work on the scaffold
shall be permitted on it.
Working on scaffold Falling material, tools, or Shelves, materials, or tools are not permitted
equipment to protrude past the guardrailed working
area of the scaffold. Shelves will be
constructed with stops to prevent anything
from falling off.
