Truman was discharged from the Army as a major in May 1919. In 1920 he was
appointed a major in the Reserve Officer Corps; he became a lieutenant colonel in
1925 and a colonel in 1932. In the 1920s and 1930s Truman commanded 1st
Battalion, 379th Field Artillery Regiment, a unit of the 102nd Infantry Division. After
promotion to colonel, Truman advanced to command of the regiment.

The role of women were to stay at home and that was portrayed in the media. 1
out of 5 was dissatisfied with their life.
Americans had more time to and money to do other things. With that extra time
they played and watched baseball, went out to bowl golf, fishing, and more.
TV turned out popular, but radio and movies survived. This actual increased
the money they because they had to change a small part of it to keep with the
change.
One new product after another came out to the marketplace for various
consumer demands. The consumers purchased items such as washing machines,
dryers, blenders, freezer, dishwashers and many more.
