Classroom Rules
1. All school rules apply.

2. No electronic devices allowed.

3. Respect everyone in the classroom.

4. Keep hands and feet to yourself.

5. Bullying will be an automatic disciplinary issue and it is not tolerated.

6. Do not disrupt the class. This includes:

Speaking over someone.
Yelling and/or screaming.
Walking around the classroom without permission.
Throwing or damaging any school property.
Playing drums on your desk

7. Always use friendly language; be kind to others and use nice words.

8. Cheating or copying anyones work.

9. Toys are a distraction and are not allowed.

10. If you need help, please ask.

11. Always try your best to succeed.

Grading Policy
The grading for this class will be based on percentages earned for a point ratio. A students grade
will be determined by the percentage they receive over the course of a marking period. The
assignments will be divided into the following categories.

Assignments and Activities (classwork/homework)

Any assignment that is not finished will be graded accordingly. I provide students with an extra
day to complete classroom assignments. If students refuse to participate in classroom activities, a
grade of 50% will be issued. Homework will be assigned Monday-Thursday. A math assignment
and a spelling assignment will be issued at the beginning of each day. Students must complete
the homework by the following morning. Students will receive a weekly reading log that should
be filled out when students read a new book. Notice: this shall be completed and signed by
parents weekly.

Quizzes/Tests: (formative/summative)
Quizzes are administered at the end of each chapter or unit. Quizzes may be announced or
unannounced. If students are not satisfied with their grade, they are allowed one re-do.
This is a classroom privilege and I reserve the right to take it away. I provide students with a
choice of a tool for a math quiz; excluding a calculator. All material for quizzes and tests are
reviewed ahead of time. I do not provide any study guides. Tests will not be announced but are
usually administered at the end of each marking period. This will be a summative grade and I
will not allow a re-do. If students need assistance, I will be available for most days before the
end of the day. If students are absent on a quiz or test day, they will be responsible for
completing the assessment the following day. If students fail to make up a quiz or test, a 50%
will be issued as a grade.
Class Participation
Unless noted otherwise, all students are required to participate in classrooms activities. Students
are encouraged to contribute to class learning. Not participating will lower a students
participation points accordingly. Learning and discussing among friends is a rewarding
experience.
