Analogue Ionisation Sensor
AIE-E
Features
Variable sensitivity
Electronically Addressed
Description
Model AIE-E is an Ionisation Smoke Sensor, which is fully compatible with Hochikis ESP
Analogue Addressable Protocol.
A single radioactive source within the AIE-E ionises two chambers, which allows a small DC
current to flow between the electrodes in each chamber. Smoke can freely enter the outer
chamber whilst the inner chamber is virtually sealed. Smoke entering the outer chamber
causes a reduction in the DC current, the imbalance between the two currents is proportional
to smoke density, which is filtered and transmitted as the analogue value.
The threshold on the AIE-E can be adjusted to compensate for contamination by utilising the
built in test facility.

Analogue Photoelectric Smoke Sensor
ALG-E
Features
Removable, High Performance chamber
Variable sensitivity
Electronically addressed
Description
Model ALG-E is a Photoelectric Smoke Sensor, which is fully compatible with Hochikis ESP
Analogue Addressable Protocol. The ALG-E is also available in black, which makes it ideal for
nightclubs and cinemas where attention to aesthetics is required.

need to use Ionisation Sensors in the majority of applications. This also allows the sensor
threshold level to be increased, thereby improving the signal to noise ratio and reducing
susceptibility to false alarms.
The ALG-E smoke chamber is easily removed or replaced for cleaning and utilises a unique
baffle design which allows smoke to enter the chamber while keeping out ambient light.

Loop Powered
51 User-Selectable Tones
Description
Model CHQ-WS2 is an addressable loop powered Wall Sounder innovatively designed to provide
a range of tones and volumes with a maximum output of up to 102dB(A)
(2dB(A)) with low current consumption. The unit is designed to fit to the Standard Base
(YBO-R/3(RED)) or the Isolator Base (YBO-R/SCI(RED)). The sounder is IP rated to IP21 for
internal use but it can be made weatherproof by utilising the WS2-WPK Weatherproof Kit, which
consists of a specialised back box and gasket set.
Also incorporates an auto shutdown mode* which allows the user to set a fixed time within
which the sounder will operate, before automatically silencing itself, ideal for minimising noise
pollution.

Description
Model CHQ-Z is a Dual Circuit Zone Controller designed to allow up to 60 conventional
detectors (30 on each zone) to be interfaced to Hochikis ESP analogue addressable system.
Full monitoring against malfunction or disconnection, together with a self-test feature through
the ESP protocol, ensure the integrity of the CHQ-Z at all times. The CHQ-Z utilises simple DIL
switches for reliable addressing. It is available as an OEM version (as illustrated above) with
an optional IP67 rated enclosure also available.
The conventional zone on the CHQ-Z does not support any line continuity
options, therefore if Call Points are being interfaced they should be wired at
the beginning of the zone.

Conventional Waterproof Heat Detector
DFG-60E (60C)
Features
Waterproof design rated to IP67
Description
Model DFG-60E is a 60C Fixed Temperature Waterproof Heat Detector, the detector uses a
bi-metallic strip to sense temperature change, therefore consuming minimal standby current
and providing high reliability.
The DFG-60E is particularly suited to environments, which are exposed to high levels of
condensation or are hosed down. The detector has a wide operating margin allowing it to
respond to both slow and fast increases in temperature; it can also sense temperature
reliably in a horizontal or vertical position.

Model HCP-W(DPS) is an IP67 rated Weatherproof Manual Call Point, which is fully compatible
with Hochikis ESP analogue addressable protocol.
The HCP-W(DPS) incorporates a red LED mounted on the front cover, which can be selected as
pulsing/non-pulsing*1 for communications polling and is continuously lit when the HCP-W(DPS)
is operated. The unit is operated by pressing the EN54 compliant non-frangible (plastic)
element and, once operated, produces a high level ESP interrupt, allowing the control panel to
respond very quickly. A built in test function initiated by the control panel ensures the integrity
of the device at all times and the device can be tested by insertion of a test key in the
underside of the unit. Two terminal blocks are provided for easy connection to the loop wiring.
The unit is addressed using the TCH-B100 Hand Held Programmer for quick and reliable
addressing. An optional glass element is also available. The HCP-W(DPS) also incorporates a
change over C Form contact that allows the installer to connect additional equipment to the
Call Point. The C Form contact is non-latching, and will change state when the test key is
inserted, and will return to the original position when the test key is removed.

Description
Model MTL7787+ is an intrinsically safe, zone-powered, Zener-diode barrier for use in
conventional fire detection systems for protection within hazardous areas.
Each Zone contains two stages of pulse-tested Zener or forward- connected diodes and an
'infallible' terminating resistor. In the event of an electrical fault in the safe area, the diodes
limit the voltage that can reach the hazardous area and the resistor limits the current. A
fuse protects the diodes, and the two stages of voltage limitation ensure continued safety if
either stage should fail. No active output-current limiting circuits are employed.
Model MTL7787+ is certified 'ia' for all zones and 'IIC' for all explosive atmospheres.
PLEASE NOTE: The Earth connections to the unit are made via connection to
the DIN rail (this product MUST be earthed.

Features
Allows air duct sampling using standard
detector or sensor
Simple installation
Description
The SDP-2 is a Duct Probe housing allowing a standard photoelectric smoke detection device,
either a conventional detector or an analogue sensor, to be mounted on the outside of an air
duct for the purpose of monitoring the air within the duct.

True Loop Emulator
TE-TLE
Features
Allows simulation of up to 4 loops of Hochiki
analogue devices (127 per loop)
Description
The TE-TLE is a 'virtual' loop device. Once the Fire Alarm Control Panel is connected to the
computer via the Interface, a 'virtual' loop can be created within the True Loop Emulator
software.
Devices can be selected and 'placed' on addresses on the loop. These devices can then be
activated with a number of different actions such as 'fire' or 'short-circuit' conditions, to test
the panel's reactions and programming. In this way, a complete fire detection system can be
tested and proven before any actual hardwiring commences, saving time and resources.
Each Interface can handle up to four loops of devices and the software can handle one or two
Interfaces. Thus, up to eight loops of devices can be emulated simultaneously.

Short-Circuit Isolator Base
YBO-R/SCI
Features
Detects short circuits on loop
Status LED
Description
Model YBO-R/SCI is a Loop Isolator, which is fully compatible with Hochikis ESP analogue
addressable protocol.
The YBO-R/SCI Base is compatible with any of the ESP Sensors, and can be used instead of
the standard YBN-R/3 Base, this reduces the cost of the Short Circuit Isolators and improves
the functionality. The Base incorporates an amber LED to show when it is isolating a section of
the loop, and if used under every analogue Sensor on the loop, none would be lost if a single
short circuit was to occur.
The YBO-R/SCI does not use an address, and has the same wiring configuration as the YBN-
R/3 Sensor Base making it very simple to install. The YBO-R/SCI can also be used without a
Sensor; a cover can be fitted to conceal the wiring connections (see below). The device is also
