She saw a face at her window and immediately went out to investigate despite not

knowing who it was.

Asraf thought she was fearless because she had befriended the Old Lady whom everyone
was afraid of.

She wanted to help Puan Fatihah whom she saw lying on the ground.

She saw Azreen waiting in the rain and immediately invited her into her house.

He pushed Azreen out of the burning room and quickly scraped wet soil to throw over the fire.

He found a yellow cord near the fire at his house and realized it belonged to Awang.

She worked late into the night to fix her mothers favourite rattan basket which she has damaged.

She persuaded the Old Lady to go back to the village to see Asrafs grandmother.

He wanted to cure his grandmother. When he could not get the herbs in the village, he was willing
to brave anything to get them.

He insisted the Old Lady come back to the village to see his grandmother and would not take no
for an answer.

She went to Awang for some charms to help her hold on to her husband when her husband wanted
to marry Madhuri.

She was willing to go into the village to help Asrafs grandmother although the villagers had
treated her badly.

He worried about his grandmother who was getting sicker by the day and wanted to do something
for her.

She knew her husband was not to be blamed for her current isolated life and forgave him for what
he had done to her.

He did not go to work for two days because he had to look after his grandmother. He did not even
care that the principal had asked him to come back to work.

She felt she was looking older and could not please her husband anymore.

He thought about how Awang had endangered his and Azreens lives and was not going to let him
get away with it.

He banged on Awangs door and grabbed him by the throat to demand an explanation for his
actions.

She fainted when she thought she saw someone who looked like Madhuri approaching her.

She ran away in fright when she saw that the Old Lady wanted to help her.
