FIRE DAMPERS

FIRE DAMPERS FIRE DAMPERS

PL-10-1 PL-10-2
Fire dampers are installed in rectangular or circular
ventilation ducts at the passages through the fire
compartments. In case of fire, the fire dampers close
automatically, thus preventing fire from spreading
through the ventilation ducts.
Fire resistance: 90 or 120 min.

Types concerning the release mode:

FIRE DAMPERS PL-10

Fire Dampers PL-10

PL-10-1 General
Application:
Fire dampers prevent fire and smoke from spreading through air conditioning
and ventilation ducts in buildings. They are installed in openings of
constructions or on passages through partition compartments with limited
fire resistance (fire walls, partition walls).

Description:
The fire dampers PL-10 consist of a blade of calcium silicate, intumescent
sealant and thermal release mechanism with the release temperature 70C
(or higher for special requirements). A silicon profile sealant makes the fire
dampers PL-10 resistant also to cold smoke thus improving the fire safety.
Due to its special construction a blade is 25 mm thick, which improves energy
efficiency of the fire damper.

PL-10-2 Fire resistance and classification:

The fire dampers are tested according to the norm EN 1366-2.
Fire damper's basic fire resistance is EI 120-S (or EI 90-S depending
on the installation).

FIRE DAMPERS PL-10 TYPES

Use of wooden supports during the installation Installation

The fire dampers should be installed according to
the designer's project for the fire safety. A fire
damper should not be statically stressed by
a building's structure.

During the installation the wooden supports should

be used (see the picture).

When mounting, a removable duct extension

should be installed to carry out control inside
a fire damper!

Please, follow the detailed instructions for installation

and use - as available by our sales employees.

Installation in a rigid wall PL-10-1 Installation in a rigid wall

A fire damper should be installed in a rigid wall of
the minumum thickness W = 100 mm into a circular
1 or rectangular opening, gap min. s = 50 mm. A wall
2 can be made of concrete, bricks or aerated bricks.
K Filler is either concrete or mortar. When mounting,
3
the installation dimension K = 35 mm should be
taken into account. For a thicker wall an extension
should be added since the fire damper does not get
through the wall!
A position of an actuator is optional in one or the
other fire compartment.

Maintenance and inspection:

The fire dampers should be maintained and inspected twice a year. If two successive inspections show no malfunctions, it is sufficient to perform further
examinations only once a year. Maintenance and inspection should only be carried out by authorized service.

WARNING
A standard type of the fire dampers PL-10 are not allowed to be installed in the explosion hazardous places. Neither are they allowed to be installed in the ventilation
devices which exhaust mixture of air and explosive gases. In such cases, special explosion-proof fire dampers should be installed. Neither are the standard fire
dampers PL-10 suitable for dusty ambients.

Use of wooden supports during the installation Installation

The fire dampers should be installed according to
the designer's project for the fire safety. A fire damper
should not be statically stressed by a building's
structure.

During the installation the wooden supports should

be used (see the picture).

Follow the detailed instructions for installation and

use - as available by our sales employees.

Maintenance and inspection:

The fire dampers should be maintained and inspected twice a year. If two successive inspections show no errors, it is sufficient to perform further examinations
only once a year. Maintenance and inspection should only be carried out by authorized service.

WARNING
A standard type of the fire dampers PL-20 are not allowed to be installed in the explosion hazardous places. Neither are they allowed to be installed in the ventilation
devices which exhaust mixture of air and explosive gases. In such cases, special explosion-proof fire dampers should be installed. Neither are the standard fire
dampers PL-20 suitable for dusty ambients.

FIRE DAMPERS PL-20

Text for a project list:

The circular fire dampers for separation of fire compartments in ventilation and air conditioning systems, resistant to fire and cold smoke, fire resistance
EI 90-S according to EN 13501-3, tested according to EN 1366-2.
Construction characteristics: the fire dampers PL-20 consist of a blade of calcium silicate, intumescent sealant and thermal release mechanism with the
release temperature 70C A housing of galvanised steel sheet is separated by a calcium silicate heat insulated frame. A silicon profile gasket makes the fire
dampers PL-20 also resistant to cold smoke.
Installation in a rigid or light wall of the minimum thickness 100 mm or in a rigid ceiling plate of the minimum thickness 150 mm, according to the manufacturer's
instructions.
