Career Solution Essay

In the field of architecture and construction there are many ways that

a solution to a community issue can be resolved. For example there are

many safety issues in buildings, which is something that architecture and

construction can fix. Architecture and construction can be the solution to the

issue of ugly looking buildings. These issues can be resolved by Architecture

and construction.

To Begin with having safer structures is a problem which architecture

and construction can resolve. With architects who can design buildings with a

safe sturdy design and construction workers who can put it together, this

community issue can be resolved. Many lives and millions of dollars have

already been saved by this ongoing research (www.pubs.usgs.gov).

Also another way this career cluster can be the solution to a

community issue is by designing buildings with better fire safety. Fire safety

is a major issue that can be solved by designing buildings with things like

more exits. Accessible exits (www.wbdg.org). Adding more exits in building

can make it easier for people to escape a burning building and could save

many lives. Fire protection engineers must be involved in all aspects of the design in
order to ensure a reasonable degree of protection of human life from fire

In addition Architecture and construction can be used to solve a

community issue by also adding fire alarms to buildings so that people can

be alerted of a fire. Fire alarms can

let people know that there is a fire in the building so that they can evacuate

before its too late. Fire alarm systems can also prevent a fire from spreading

or becoming so big that it can no longer be contained. Fire alarm systems

are important in providing occupants of buildings prompt warning if a fire

occurs (www.mfs.sa.gov.au). smoke alarms provide the warning that

residents need to safely escape. (www.preventfire.com).

Also Fire escape routes are another important community issue that

can be solved by architecture and construction. Architects can design

buildings with better escape routes that can be used in case of a fire. These

escape routes must meet the design and construction requirements and the

routes must be permanent which is something that an architect would

design. Exit routes must meet the following design and construction

requirements. Each exit route must be a permanent part of the workplace

In addition earthquake safety is another community issue that can be

solved by architecture and construction. Architects can design buildings so

that they are stronger in earthquakes. in addition to strengthening a

building against earthquake shocks, engineers can actually reduce the force

a building is subjected to. They install what are called base isolators.

Another community issue is that there are a lot of buildings that are

ugly and unappealing to the eye. Architecture and construction can fix this

problem by designing buildings with flashy designs. everyones aim is to

create noble buildings and campuses that will attract talented staff and

students. (www.theguardian.com)

Lastly Architecture and construction can fix the issue of restoring old

buildings and making them look nice again. There are a lot of old buildings

that should be restored so that heritage can be preserved, Architecture and

construction can do just that and solve this problem. Preserving historic

buildings is vital to understanding our nations heritage. (www.wbdg.org)

To conclude the issue of unsafe and unappealing looking buildings can

be solved by architecture and construction. Architects and people in

construction can build us buildings that are safe and appealing to the eye.

Architecture and Construction can solve this community issue.
