1.1 INTRODUCTION

Photoshop is a software program developed by Adobe Systems Inc. that allows users
to manipulate, crop, resize, and correct colour on digital photos. This software can be used for
anyone that knows how to use this software especially amongst professional photographers
and graphic designers. In addition, this software can be used for PowerPoint or presentations,
publications and lay-outs which is include as hand-out or brochures. Other than that, this
software also can be used as graphics for web, web designs, and navigations that we can
found it from the World Wide Web (www) and lastly we also can use this software for video
segmenting and digital materials.

Due to these software was created and be used almost all photographers and designers
or else the professionals, it can be somewhat challenging to use especially if the person using
these software for the first time. Photoshop has many features that it may be too complicated
for many users and its also high at cost and expensive. There are some common controls that
can be seen within this software which are selection tools that can be conclude as the most
basic functions in photoshop. These tools let directly to focus on one area of an image and in
any shape. Next is the brush tool which will be functioning as colouring alter and opacity of
different layers and spot brush in these software is a great tool for brushing out spots from
graphics or images. Lastly, tools that within this software is clone tool and this tool can clone
an area of image.

1.2 HOW TO USE PHOTOSHOP FOR BLOG HEADER

Firstly, press Ctrl + n to insert new layer and change the width and height.
Select File in the menu bar to insert a picture and click Open.

Drag the picture to the previous background.

Press Ctrl + T to resize the picture and use the Shift button to maintain the image of the
picture while dragging it. Design the background up to your preferences.
To adjust the opacity, select Layer in the menu bar and select Layer Style Blending Options
or click 3x on the picture in the layer option.

Adjust the opacity to blur the background image.

Press Ctrl + J to select

Finally, add the text that you need.

1.3 ADVANTAGES OF PHOTOSHOP

The advantages by using these Photoshop software for any event or occasions, the
first one is these software is simple to use especially for beginners and since for the beginners
who do not know how to manipulate the software, they can use actions because it is easy to
learn using actions and does not need coaching to do it. Next is we can learn more of
Photoshop actions where we can see each of the action work and we also could learn about
how Photoshop works and also we can explore and combine the different steps in an action.
Indeed, by exploring and combining our knowledge skills could be sharpened.

Addition, with Adobe Photoshop software, one can quickly and easily import videos
and photos into the software and after been imported, everything will be neatly organized on
the screen and it could make it more easily to handle the numerous videos and photos. The
proper organization of the workspace could make it easy to find editing tools and other
features. Besides that, this software can make a quick editing and most of the edits regularly
done on photos could be completed with a single click and because of it can be done in one
click this can make us saving a lot of time and it also can prevent us from staring at the
computer screens by doing the task. After a lot of skills that we can gained from using these
software, we could save money from hiring others to do the editing because instead of hiring
others, we could make it ourselves and Photoshop actions can help to give any effect and
enhancement of the images that depends on the type of action that was used.

1.4 DISADVANTAGES OF PHOTOSHOP

Adobe Photoshop is relatively simple to use but it is not a program designed for the
beginners, it is primarily a photo-editing program for the professionals that plan on editing
many photos on a regular basis. There are many different tools that do very different things,
we will take long time to learn how to use each one correctly. Adobe Photoshop is not free
software, but it is a property software, which mean we should purchase it and it also mean its
source code is a secret. Source code is the code in which any computer program is written by
the human programmers.

Adobe Photoshop is relatively expensive and highly cost compared with other photo-
editing software. It has so many features and it is thus regarded as the industry standard in the
graphic designing. If we are not using this software daily and not necessary been used in our
daily job, we do not have to spend much money on it. Most beginners will not begin to touch
the functionality of this program and they could get what they need from another program.
Many people who are unfamiliar with editing the photos in Adobe Photoshop, the advanced
functionality will be useless for them. There are many free and lower cost graphics and photo
editors. They are available for the casual users and the enthusiasts who do not need all of the
powerful features Photoshop offers. Adobe Photoshop requires a well-equipped computer
because it is a heavyweight program and many of the tools are computationally intensive and
it may takes up a large space of room on your computer as well as RAM memory.
