Heb. 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such
things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Great and Glorious Redeemer:
Several times in the Bible you say just that!
Gen. 28:15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither
thou goest,
Deut. 31:8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with
thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
Psa. 37:28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are
preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
Your repetition of this promise and reputation should make me secure, and
keep me from harboring doubts, or being distrustful. At no time should I feel
forsaken. I want to bring that same assurance to __________ and __________.
At the same time I realize I am not promised a pass from trouble, only
security against being deserted. I am called to travel a hard way, but thank you I
always have your presence, your assistance, and your provision for the path.
I need not covet money, because I always have the Master. God is better
than gold. Your favor is better than fortune or fame. Surely I should be content
with thatthat plus everything else you give me! Because if I have you Lord, I
have more than anyone on this planet. I am the worlds richest person, for what
can I get beyond infinity? Therefore, what more should I desire beside thee?
Lord, give me grace. It is not that you may leave me any time this week
but that I might leave you! Do not let me forsake your ways for even a second.
Keep me close to your path, and closer to your breast. For so I ask it in
Jesus precious name and to his glory. Amen.

Thursday, May 25
John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they
are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Living Lord and Loving Savior:
Make truth the twin companion of love in my life, even as it was in your
prayer here. Help me be faithful to truth without becoming contentious in
spirit. To be separated from the world is my duty, but to be filled with love for
worldly men and women for Gods sake is likewise your command.
Purge me from the common sins and ordinary transgressions of my
neighbors. I do not want to be a liar to God and a deceiver, by living two lives in
front of them. Help me escape the foul soul-pollution of lust and falsehood.
Gal. 5:24 And they that are Christs have crucified the flesh with the affections and
lusts.
But Lord I need more than mere morality. I need to also be delivered from
the hardness, deadness, complacency and apathy of my age. I need to be rescued
from that which is of the flesh at its very best, as well as its very worst.
I want to rise above the natural to the spiritual. Lord, spiritualize me
today! May your Holy Spirit have full control to perfect me in your will, because
that is what it means to be sanctified.
It is not sufficient for me to be negatively clean; I need to be dressed with
positive virtues. Let me exhibit the love of God. Help me live for your glory in a
generous, unselfish way. I want to walk in your Spirit and commune with Christ.
Heb. 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see
the Lord:
Without this I am not fit for service. You are sending me into the world
even as God sent Christ. Make me a vessel you can use to Jesus glory! Amen.

Isa. 41:1 Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew their strength: let
them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.
Holy Father:
I bow before you in reverent awe to silently confess, I myself am vile.
Psa. 44:15 My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath
covered me,
I have so very little silent worship, where I let things really sink in. Help me
seek that sacred sanctifying influence for a moment now, and think about what I
need before I speak. What are the blessings my soul pants for? Is it revival? If I
would get a correct idea of my needs I could correctly make a request. Am
I prepared to receive it? Suppose you gave me revival right now, would I be ready
to preserve its results? If dozens of converts were born-again during the
preaching this Sunday, am I ready to teach them, instruct them, disciple them and
comfort them? Here it is: am I doing it now? Am I acting in such a way you,
Lord, know I am ready to take care of the new believers I am asking you for?
I pray for grace. Am I using what grace I have? I want to see more power.
What am I doing with power you have given me? If a mighty wave of revival
sweeps over us, is my heart ready? Are my hands ready? Is my checkbook ready?
Could I ride the crest of that wave? Help me keep silence, consider and reflect.
You can give the blessing by me or by anyone else. Weak as I am, you can
make me mighty through God. What is there in my private prayer and acts for
God that would be likely to call down your fire? Am I really sincere in wanting it?
Could I give-up the world to gain revival in the work of God? Do I make time,
even now, to care for the Lords vineyard? Let me sit for a while and worship in
the silence of awe, the silence of shame, and the silence of careful reflection.

IVE had my share of ups and downs, times when there was no one around,
God came and spoke these words to me, Praise will confuse the enemy.
I started singing, I started clapping, I started dancing, people were laughing,
They knew my problems, they knew my pain, but I knew God would take them
away.
Thats why I praise him with my hands, thats why I praise him with a dance,
Hes given me a second chance, come on lets praise him in advance.
Thats why I praise him with a song, when things are right and when theyre
wrong,
Hes given me a second chance, come on lets praise Him in advance.

O Lord Our God:
Deliver us from care, but especially from caring about ourselves! Give us
power to roll our burden on you, and to sing all day long because we are yours.
Make us holy as well as happy. Help us walk a path separated from the
world and tread it, not with hesitancy, but with firm and courageous steps. Help
us while we wrestle against our own flesh, and while we wrestle not with flesh and
blood. Give us the weapons of faith to fight with principalities and powers. May it
be our joy, by your Spirit, to triumph in every place, being led in triumph by your
Son. Glorify yourself, by Jesus Christ, in us as his church, even in these mortal
bodies, to go from strength to strength. For that is your Eternal Purpose!
We put our most earnest prayer up for those who do not yet know you. O
Spirit of God, convict men and women of their sin, convert them with
righteousness in Christ, and convince them of judgment to come! Especially
convince the human heart of the sin of not believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.
That is the highest act of enmity against God. The rejection of God when he
became man and died for us out of infinite lovesurely this is the highest crime
in the universe. Make this realization strike like an arrow into the heart of
someone today. Lay it like a millstone on their conscience until they come to the
cross and get rid of it. How shall they escape if they neglect so great salvation?
Spirit of God, you must bring this to their heart. Then convince them of
righteousness. Let them see it can be found only in Jesus. Let them know it is
demanded of all, and if they do not get it from Christ then they will never have it.
Oh, let them not perish in their sins, but let usthrough praying and
preachingdeliver the message of the gospel. Do it now for Jesus sake. Amen.
Faithful Heavenly Father:
You bless me and make me a blessing. Make my life a blessing to you. If I
pray well I should praise well, because prayer and praise are the two lips of the
soul.
Real praise is based on reason. It is not irrational emotional experience, but
rises from the depth of understanding. You answer my prayers, so remind me to
acknowledge that, and make it a point to vocalize praise for your goodness.
Psa. 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I
am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
You use your power on my behalf. Every day I can say, I am helped. Since I
serve such a great God I need to rejoice in him greatly. A song is my souls best
method of expressing my happiness with you.
Psa. 29:2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in
the beauty of holiness.
I cannot add anything to you, but I should recognize your glory and might,
and give you appropriate praise in my songs and in my heart. Help me not be so
successful that I am slack in glorifying you. I should not need pressure to
give you what I owe, especially when paying it is so pleasant!
In times past worship was cumbered with ceremony, and people gathered
around a sanctuary symbolic of the beauty of holiness. Today my worship is
spiritual. The architecture of the house and the garments of the worshipper are
not important. The spiritual beauty of inward purity and outward holiness are far
more important to you. Help me worship you with those things this Sunday, as is
my reasonable service (Rom. 12:1-2). I ask it to Jesus glory. Amen.

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE
1) TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2) TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3) TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.
QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS
Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)
Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

INSTRUCTIONS:
Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
