Exercise 2.1 Solution: Create a Web Report

Instructions
1. Go to the web administration page: http://10.107.88.11:8000/sap/bpc/web.
2. Enter your user name and password.

3. Change the current Environment to TRAINING_XX by clicking on the
environment name (note: XX = your participant number).

4. Click on New Report on the right panel.
5. Click the Model and select Planning.
6. Drag and Drop these dimensions:
Dimension Position
ACCOUNT Row
DEPARTMENT Row
TIME Column

7. Click on the Account dimension in Rows, and click on Select Members.

8. Choose Descendants of Commercial Expenses and click the checkbox
Include the Starting Member.
9. Click on the Department dimension in Rows, and click on Select Members.

10. Choose Descendants of Marketing and Sales and click the checkbox for
Include the Starting Members. Choose level 1 for Number of Levels Down.
11. Click on the Time dimension in Columns, and click on Select Members.
12. Choose Base Members of 2010.Total.
13. Save the report with the name on a public folder.
You have completed the Create a Web Report exercise.

Create a new Web Report. The Web Report to be created is displayed below.
Expected
Outcome
To run a report, click on the Home tab and select Library, after selecting the public folder.

Exercise 2.2 Solution: Create a Web Input Form

4. Click on New Input Form in the Create section, on the right panel.
5. Choose the model and select Planning.
6. Drag and Drop these dimensions:
Dimension Position
ACCOUNT Row
VERSION Column
TIME Column
7. Click on the Account dimension in Rows, and click on Select Members.

8. Choose Descendants of Commercial Expenses and choose Members level

All on Number of Levels Down. Click OK.
9. Click on the Version dimension in Rows, and click on Select Members.

10. Choose Single Member Actual and add a new criteria. Choose Single Member
PLAN. Click OK.
11. Click on the Time dimension in Columns, and click on Select Members.
12. Choose Base Members of 2010.TOTAL.
13. Save the input form with the name on the public folder.
You have completed the Create a New Web Input Form exercise.

Create a Web input form. The Web Input Form is shown in the figure below: To run
Expected an input form, click on the Home tab and select Library, after selecting the public

Exercise 2.3 Solution: Create a Report

4. Click on EPM Office Add-in Excel.
5. Create a new connection: Click on Create and enter the user and password.

6. Enter http://10.107.88.11:8000/sap/bpc into the Server URL field.

7. Click on Connect.
a. Choose the Environment TRAINING_XX and Model PLANNING.
b. Click on Generate Connection Name, and then click OK.
c. Use the created connection to login.
8. On the EPM tab, click on the New Report button.
9. Click on the Layout tab.

10. Drag and drop the dimensions below into the specified area of the report:

BU PageAxis
CATEGORY PageAxis
CHANNEL PageAxis

11. Click the Account link in Row Axis Dimensions:

a. First remove the Context () selected member on the right side, clicking
the left arrow button.
b. Flag member PL000027 and select Member Only for Static
Relationship and move to the right panel.
c. Flag member PL000027 and select Descendants for Dynamic
Relationship and move to the right panel.
d. Click OK.
12. Click the Department link in the Row Axis Dimensions.

a. First remove the Context, after flagging member
MARKETING_SALES and select Members and Children on
Dynamic Relationship.
b. Move to the right panel.
c. Click OK.

13. Click the Time link in the Column Axis Dimensions.

a. Flag member Context and select Base Level as Dynamic Relationship
14. Select the member Context.

a. Click Member Sorting and Grouping.
b. Click the checkboxes Enable Member Sorting and Group by Property
- Choose TIMEID
c. Click Order Ascending.
d. Click OK.

15. Click the OK button in the Report Editor. If prompted, click on the OK button.
16. Save the report in the folder Report.

Exercise 2.4 Solution: Create an Input Form

4. Click on EPM Office Add-in Excel.
5. Select the connection created in the previous exercise to login to PLANNING

model of TRAINING_XX (where XX is your participant number).
6. On the EPM tab, click on the New Report button.

7. Drag and drop the dimensions below into the specified area of the input form:

8. Click the Account link in the Row Axis Dimensions:
a. First remove the Context () selected member on the right side, clicking the

and move on the right panel.
c. Flag member PL000027 and select Descendants on Dynamic
Relationship and move on the right panel.
d. Click OK.

9. Click on Time link on column, flag member Context and select Base Level on
Dynamic Relationship and move on the right panel.
10. Select the member Context.

a. Click Member Sorting and Grouping.
b. Click the checkboxes Enable Member Sorting and Group by Property -
Choose TIMEID
c. Click Order Ascending.
d. Click OK.

11. Click on the Category link in the Column Axis Dimensions.

a. Flag members ACTUAL and PLAN, and select Only Members as Static
Relationship.
c. Click OK.
12. Close the Report Editor by clicking on the OK button.
13. From the EPM tab, click on Sheet Options under the Options menu.
14. Click the Use as Input checkbox, and then click the OK button.
15. Save the input form in the folder Input Schedules.
You have completed the Create a New Input Form exercise.

Send data and verify in the report that the data sent.

a. Flag member 2010.JAN and select Only Members for Static
Relationship.
c. Click OK.
12. Click on View Formats to format the input form (optional).
13. For each input cell, write a formula: EPMSaveComment(A,B,C1
C1,C3,C4,C5,C6,C7,C8,C9,C10,C11)
Where:
A: the cell reference of the input cell
B: the name of model
C1-C11: the dimensions of model

11. Select Account on the right panel and click on Member Sorting & Grouping.
a. Click the checkbox Enable Member Sorting and Group by Property - choose
ID.
b. Order by Ascending.
c. Move it to the right panel.
d. Click OK.
12. Click on the Time dimension in Columns.

a. Flag the member Context and select Base Level for Dynamic Relationship.
b. Move it to the right panel.
c. Click OK.

13. Click on View Formats to format the input form and apply this formatting:
