Description

The Chemetron Fire Systems Abort Station is a ARCHITECT/ENGINEER SPECIFICATIONS

manually-activated, electric device designed to let the
user switch the fire suppression system to its reserve
cylinders until the primary cylinders are back in place
and operating normally. Its distinctive appearance and
operation make it easy to differentiate from other types
of system controls.
Normally mounted near the suppression agent stor-
age location, the transfer station is operated by pulling
the protective pin, which breaks the seal and allows
the toggle switch to be pushed into the Reserve
position. The toggle switch has a double-pole, double-
throw contact arrangement for two independently
supervised releasing solenoids.
The faceplate is constructed of formed steel and
painted red. For permanence, all operating instructions
are in raised letters, stamped into the faceplate. For
added clarity, the letters are silkscreened in a contrast-
ing color. Instructions are arranged in an easy-to-read
format. A back box is available for surface-mounted
installations.
A Chemetron Fire Systems Main to Reserve
Transfer Station, stock number 20100145, shall be pro-
vided. It shall be used to switch the suppression sys-
tem from the main agent supply to the reserve, back-
up supply.
Operating instructions shall be in raised letters,
stamped into the faceplate. The raised letters shall be
silkscreened in a contrasting color.
The unit shall consist of a two-pole switch that shall
accommodate two independently supervised releasing
solenoids. The switch shall be fitted with a protective
guard and pin with a seal to prevent misuse or
tampering. To guard against locking out all actuators,
the switch shall have no middle position.
