Philosophy of Education

Children are the future, so how they are educated is crucial in determining the generation
they will become. Play, early intervention, teacher-parent relationships, and inclusion are the
most important aspects of early childhood education. It is the teachers job to guide the students
to reach their fullest potential by earning their trust and using developmentally appropriate
practices. Common core standards can hinder this development by measuring learning according
to one set of guidelines, instead of focusing on each individuals growth. Every lesson plan

Consequently, the whole child should be taken into consideration when planning every lesson
plan and activity. If a child does not feel confident in their culture and background then there is a
problem. Open communication is key in promoting this confidence. This open communication
should also be established with parents, so the same subjects can be taught at home.
At least 75% of a childs day should be spent free playing. When students are able to
explore their own thoughts, they develop more than if the class was sitting altogether hearing a
lecture. Teachers should ask thought provoking questions to further childrens learning while

playing. More natural socialization happens when children are playing together, and it is a great
opportunity to guide conflict resolution, sharing, manners, and self-expression. These are the
If there are any areas that a child is developing in significantly slower than others, early
intervention is crucial. Without teacher observation and recording, this slowness would not be
recognized. If it is not recognized, early intervention will not happen, and it can negatively affect
the childs entire educational career. The rest of this education determines how each child goes
through life and succeeds personally. Every day counts in a childs development.
