CONTROL OF MEASURING & MONITORING EQUIPMENT

1.0 Policy

(Company) determines the necessary measuring and monitoring needed to ensure that jobs
conform to Client requirements.
(Company) controls, calibrates, and maintains inspection, measuring, and test equipment,
whether owned by (Company), provided by the Client or FirmLab owned. Equipment is used
in a manner that is consistent with the required measurement capability of each Client job. If
outside calibration services are used, (Company) ensures the contracted facilities are capable
of performing the required services as per Client requirements.

Measuring equipment is checked to ensure that it is capable of verifying the acceptability of test
prior to release for use during activities, and is rechecked at prescribed intervals. (Company) has
established the extent and frequency of such checks and maintains records as evidence of
control. Measurement data is available, when required by the Client or the Clients
representative, for verification that it is functionally adequate.

2.0 Calibration Process

The calibration process uses appropriate methods and procedures for calibrations, verifications
and related activities within its responsibility (including, but not limited to, sampling,
handling, transport and storage, preparation of items, and maintenance).

Calibration standards are traceable to a National or International standard. In the absence of

such standards, the basis for calibration is documented. Instructions, standards, manuals and
reference data relevant to the work of the calibration process are maintained up-to-date and
are readily available.

The calibration process ensures that the calibration uncertainties are sufficiently small so that the
adequacy of measurement is not affected.
