There are three main religious groups in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. These

religious groups are Christian Evangelicals who believe in God who created the

Universe and everything in it. Second, there is the group of Catholicism and this

specific group also believes in God and that He is the creator of the Universe and

everything in it however they also worship other saints. Then there is the religious

group Jehovah Witnesses. They believe in God the creator however, they do not believe

in the trinity but just one God as one self. All three of these groups have a different

worldview. This affects the way that each one of these groups approaches people. They

all want to share their faith with those around them somehow and they each do this

through a different and unique way of their own that distinguishes them from each

other. Therefore, in Jarabacoa you can differentiate the religious groups by the way they

share their faith.

Christian Evangelicals are people who base their belief in a God that created the

Universe and everything in it. They devote their whole lives into worshiping God; their

creator. This specific group of Christian Evangelical people share their faith through

their life style. Christians Evangelicals believe that they were call to love their

neighbors and live a life according to what the Bible instructs them to. Therefore, in

order to share their faith this is how they live. One of the main ways that Christians

Evangelicals use to share their faith to those who surround them is through the

preaching of the gospel. They have many ways of preaching the gospel. One is living it

and being a testimony of what a follower Christ looks like. For this reason they become

an example of what this looks like. Another way of Christians Evangelicals sharing their

faith is involving God or even scriptures on typical conversations. Whenever they find

themselves talking to someone during their normal day they practice involving God in

their conversations. Not making them sound like a sermon but somehow fitting it in

with what they were first discussing about. They also practice giving testimonies of

situations through where they have experienced God and how that has impacted their

lives and drawn them closer into God. With the hope of reaching out to people through

this. Christians Evangelicals put much focus and effort into living a life that reflects

Jesus over all. This is because in resemblance to the other groups Christians

Evangelicals want to share their faith with others and have an impact in their lives.

Catholic people have a very distinct way to share their faith with others.

Catholics are not known for evangelizing therefore this is not a way they use to

approach others. Catholic people tend to share their faith through many religious acts

that usually happen inside of the walls of a Catholic church. The main Catholic church

in Jarabacoa located in the center of the whole town is usually crowded with people.

This is because Catholics make sure to invite many people to their church in order for

them to share their faith to them through various ways. One way is sitting down for a

certain amount of time and listen to a sermon given by the pope who they all respect

and look up to. Another way they share their faith is through confession which is a

religious act that they all do in order to have their sins forgiven. Catholics also share

their faith with others through their daily prayer of the rosary. Therefore, Catholic

people strictly follow up with all of their religious norms and through this they share

their faith to others. Just like other religions have their own different ways of expressing

their faith.

Jehovah Witnesses differentiate from any other religious groups in Jarabacoa

because of their way of sharing their faith to everyone else. Jehovah Witnesses are very

active when it comes to sharing their faith with others. They walk around town and stop

anyone on their way and tell them an elevator pitch about some specific Bible verse or

anything that would catch someones attention and also give small brochures out.

Therefore, Jehovah Witnesses share their faith with others by interacting with people on

the streets and even show up at peoples houses every certain time to speak to them

about their belief. You can see their faith be reflected by how they are not ashamed nor

shy to go out and reach out to people. Jehovah Witnesses share their faith by

communicating to others what their belief is and why they should believe this as well.

They share their faith by teaching others that their religion is the one absolute truth.

Jarabacoa may be a small town with plenty religions however you can tell them

apart by the way these religions share and express their faith to others. Christian

Evangelicals, Catholics, and Jehovah Witnesses are all groups that are found in

Jarabcoa. All three of these groups have totally different worldviews and beliefs.

However, something that really differentiates these groups from each other is how they

share their faith with others. Each one way one of these religious groups have developed

their one way do this. Christian Evangelicals distinguish themselves for sharing their

faith through living a life according to what God has advised them through scripture.

Catholics are mostly known for sharing their faith at church through many religious acts

that they are very faithful to and always follow up with them. Lastly, there is Jehovah

Witnesses who share their faith with others by interacting directly with them. They do

this by approaching people on the streets or personally going to the individuals home.

By determining how a religious person shares their faith in Jarabacoa it is easy to then

determine in what religion they fall into.
