Nomenclature definition
The main data of each SIIRTEC NIGI Gas Filter Separator can be identified by a set of
letters and numbers as indicated below.

SIIRTEC NIGI Gas Filter Separators are the most efficient method available to remove
solid and liquid particles from a vapour stream.
Typical applications for these separators are:
! Compressor stations: compressor maintenance can be greatly reduced by
protecting them from solids and liquid contamination. A properly engineered
SIIRTEC NIGI Filter Separator will assure that only clean dry gas passes through
your compressor;
! Inlet to processing plants: the installation of a SIIRTEC NIGI Filter Separator will
ensure a high efficiency, trouble free operation of your dehydration, sweetening
or treatment plant;
! Downstream of contactors: a SIIRTEC NIGI Filter Separator can eliminate contact
fluid losses as well as prevent contamination of downstream process fluids;
! Metering stations: a SIIRTEC NIGI Filter Separator will protect valuable metering
equipment and minimise losses due to inaccurate flow measurement;
! Dry desiccant dehydration systems: a SIIRTEC NIGI Filter Separator will prevent
the fouling of beds with solids as well as the spoiling of valuable desiccant beds
/ Design by Studio Franci - Milano by free water;
! Compressor discharge: a SIIRTEC NIGI Filter Separator, by removing compressor
lubricants, can maintain higher pipeline efficiencies;
! Miscellaneous: any location where clean dry gas is essential.

The contaminated gas enters in the first section, where virtually all solids are removed by
SIIRTEC NIGI filtering cartridges and gross liquids are settled out. Then the vapour
stream flows into the second section of the vessel, where all fine liquid particles, already
coalesced, are easily removed, so that a dry clean gas exits the outlet nozzle. Filters
All residual liquids are collected and stored in separate sump sections, to await removal.

Vane
Advantages
Due to the combined action of the two stages, the efficiency of this equipment is of the
highest level achievable for any other type of separator.
Vane
SIIRTEC NIGI Gas Filter Separators are usually supplied in horizontal and vertical
configurations. The internals are generally arranged according to the duty and process

requirements as indicated. Minicyclones
A Quick Opening Closure, positioned at one end of the vessel, for easy access to the
filter elements. For minor vessel diameters the QOC can be replaced by a bolted
head. All SIIRTEC NIGI QOC are equipped with a safety bleed device to positively
Filters Vane prevent the closure being opened while the vessel is under pressure. In most cases,
access to the filter elements can be made in less than three minutes after the gas
filter is depressurised. The filter elements can generally be cleaned several times by
opening the unit and washing with a water hose;
A skid structure, if required;
Complete set of automatic controls for unattended operation, as required.
Materials
The Gas Filter Separator body is generally made of carbon steel, while internals are
generally made of stainless steel. However other materials can be used depending on
the service of the Separator.
Filters Wire mesh
SIIRTEC NIGI Gas Filter Separators can be fabricated in many different materials, to be
completely compatible with any process fluid.
Horizontal types
Design
We can provide a "tailor-made" design of any type of Separator according to any duty
requirement.
Vessels can be built in accordance with any international code (e.g. ASME .VIII, ISPESL,
SNCC, STOOMWEZEN, TV, etc.) depending on Client's request.
