Peace Corps Response positions are open to returned Volunteers or U.S. citizens with
significant professional and technical experience.

Project Description
A Peace Corps Response Volunteer is needed to serve as a Project Development and Media
Specialist for the Consortium Legal Aid Georgia (LAG). LAG is a relatively new organization
and implements the following activities: provision of relevant legal information through
printed materials (leaflets and newspapers), radio and TV programs to respective target
groups; information sessions and outreach activities; organization of thematic training's,
seminars, and workshops for displaced persons (IDPs and refugees), civil society actors, as well
as decision makers at various levels of government; provision of comprehensive legal
counseling and assistance including in-court representation; carrying out research and analysis
of the needs of the target groups and examination of policies and laws affecting them;
participation in various working groups, commissions and forums to improve coordination
among stakeholders and to influence the decision making processes. Currently, LAG is working
on projects such as: free legal aid for IDPs, development of home-owners associations, and
supporting women and children. The organization conducts ongoing capacity building
activities for its staff to increase their overall performance and they have identified that still
need development.

A Project Development and Media Specialist with experience in fundraising, public outreach,
and project development is needed to help LAG staff in building their capacity. By the end of
the assignment, the PCRV will have:

1) Improved staff capacity in fundraising and proposal writing

 2) Improved the content of LAG website and Facebook page
3) Contributed to improved media coverage of LAG activities by developing at least three
articles, publications, and/or media stories
4) Improved public outreach skills of staff using social media
5) Developed at least two project proposals
6) Contributed to the development strategic and operational plans
The goal of this assignment is to increase LAG staff abilities to conduct outreach, develop
projects and fundraising.

Required Skills
Extensive experience with fundraising and proposal writing
Degree in marketing, management, public administration, or related fields
Experience in public outreach and social media
IT knowledge allowing to work with websites and social media
Experience in conducting training's
Strong written and editorial skills
Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
Flexible and able to conduct field visits

Medical Considerations in Georgia

Georgia may not be able to support Volunteers with the following medical conditions:
insulin-dependent diabetes; some types of gynecologic support; ongoing behavioral health
support; seizure disorder.

The following medication(s) are not permitted for legal or cultural reasons: Adderall, Ritalin
and Vyvanse..

Volunteers who should avoid the following food(s) may not be able to serve: gluten.

After arrival in Georgia, Peace Corps provides and applicants are required to have an annual
flu shot and mandatory immunizations.
