Background 1

1 Software Startup in Standalone Mode


1.1 Background
In the Standalone mode, no other application is
connect to InkzoneMove such as InkzonePerfect or
InkzoneLoop. All job relevant parameters are set
directly in InkzoneMove.

1.2 Startup the Application


Locate on the desktop or in the quick start the
InkzoneMove application.

2.1 Create a New Job


Toggle to the job button (1) and select the Set Up
button (2).

Select the new job button (1).

At first, the settings from the last job are


displayed.

To setup the costumer and job name, click into the


Costumer and Job name field (1).
A virtual keyboard shows up to enter them.

Select the Paper Class and then the according


paper (1).

The paper class and paper setup from the


last job is preselected.

To select the colorbar, click first on the colorbar field


(1) and then select the colorbar from the list (2).

The colorbar from the last job is


preselected.

Set the length of the colorbar here (1). A virtual


keypad shows up to enter the values (2).

The colorbar length value from the last job


is first set.

Select the first unit (1) and select the color, either
CMYK or on the most right a spot color (2).

A none printing unit is set with the unit off button

Change the target density by clicking on the current


value (1). The virtual keyboard comes up.
Change the density tolerance by clicking on the
current value (2). The virtual keyboard comes up.

Save all changes with the store button (3).

Select here the first patch (1). Select patch which is


in the lowest ink key number.
When the colorbar is placed on the gripper side and
you place sheet on the console desk, its the patch
at the most left hand side in the lower ink key area.
The system shows the according start patch (2) and
the end patch sequence (3).

The shown start and end patch sequences need to


be equal to the press sheet. Cross check it with your
press sheet.

An incorrect colorbar length value could be


the cause of an incorrect colorbar end (3)
patch sequence.

Exit and save the job setup through the button


shown at (1) and store confirm the changes with the
save button (2).

2.2 Scan the Press Sheet


Press the measure button (1) to start a
measurement. After measuring, number increases
by one (2). Toggle between the scan with the arrow
up and down buttons.

3.1 Background
InkzoneMove connects to the Inkpreset software
InkzonePerfect and to the ClosedLoop software
InkzoneLoop. InkzonePerfect and InkzoneLoop
send job information to InkzoneMove to simplify the
job management

3.2 Startup the Application


Start the System either through the InkzoneMove
program shortcut or start the application
InkzonePerfect which automatically launches the
InkzoneMove.

4 Job Management - Connect to InkzoneLoop/Perfect


4.1 Create a New Job
In InkzonePerfect locate the job and drag and drop
it to the units. Select the calibration curve and press
the Save button (1) to load it to InkzoneMove.

Depending on the configuration, the job goes


directly to the press or / and to InkzoneLoop.
Additionally, the job information goes to
InkzoneMove which shows the job loading in the
status window (1).

InkzoneMove comes up. The job name from


InkzonePerfect is set (1).

The paper class and the paper type (1) and the
color sequence are set from InkzonePerfect.

The color sequence is set from InkzonePerfect (1).

To select the colorbar, click first on the colorbar field


(1) and then select the colorbar from the list (2).

The colorbar from the last job is


preselected.

Select here the first patch (1). Select patch which is


in the lowest ink key number.
When the colorbar is placed on the gripper side and
you place sheet on the console desk, its the patch
at the most left hand side in the lower ink key area.
The system shows the according start patch (2) and
the end patch sequence (3).

The shown start and end patch sequences need to


be equal to the press sheet. Cross check it with your
press sheet.

Exit the job setup with the exit button (1). Confirm
the current setup (2).

4.1 Scan the Press Sheet


Press the measure button (2) to start a measuring
the job sheet.

4.1.1 Send Ink Key change to press


Use the Transfer button (1) to send the key
correction, which are calculated after a press sheet
is scanned, to the press console.

4.2 Spot Colors with InkzonePerfect


InkzonePerfect will deliver color names and the
sequence to InkzoneMove.

Set the right Spot Color name in


InkzonePerfect before transferring it to
InkzoneMove.

4.2.1 Load a Spotcolor Job


Select the job from the list (1) and drag and drop it
to the units. Select the unit (2) where the spot color
is printed. Click now on the spot color in the job
color list (3).

The spot color gets assigned to the unit (1). Double


click on the spot color to change the spot color
name (2).

Select the calibration curve and press Save to


continue.

4.2.2 Spot Color is New


If the spot color does not exist, the Spotcolor Edit
dialog comes up.
Select the input method (1) for the spot color. For
the Spectral version of InkzoneMove, its mandatory
to read the spot color with a spectro instrument. For
the SpectroDrive, SpectroJet and EasyTrax, use the
instrument itself for the spot reading.
When using the IntelliTrax, add an EyeOne device
to measure the spot colors.

In a IZM Densi Only version, the target densities


can be set manually.

Use the Save button (2) to continue with the job


setup.

4.2.3 Spot Color is Existing


When the spot color is already set in the table, the
program jumps directly to the job setup window from
where you can set the target values.

4.3 Change Spot Color Target


Click on the spot color (1) to bring up the target
density dialog.
Choose which way the spot color should be treated
(2):
Through one of the four filters (C,M,Y and K)
Through the spectral density

4.3.1 Use Spectral Density


Select the spectral density field (1) and set the
target.

The spectral density is only available, when the spot


color is available in the spot color with the spectral
data.

4.3.2 Use the CMYK Filter


To use the standard C, M, Y and K filter, select (1) it
and set the target value.

4.4 Colorbar Setup with Spotcolors


Select the colorbar (1).
For each printed color, a solid density patch needs
to be available in the color.

4.4.1 Colorbar Patch Assignment


To assign the printed colors from the job to the
colorbar, select the Colorbar Sequene Setup button
(1).

Row 1 shows the current select colorbar sequence


with the colors from the job. When loading a new
job, the standard sequence is used.

Change in row 2 the sequence to match the current


printed job.

Row 3 shows the color from the current job.

4.4.2 Change the Patch Assignment


The solid repetition in the sample colorbar is Black,
Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Spot 1, Spot 2. The example
shows, how to change the spot color position in the
colorbar from Spot 1 to Spot 2.

In the New Colorbar Sequence row, select the


patch for the Spot 2 (1).

Now select the spot color from the job color row (1).
In the row New Colorbar Sequence, the color is
assigned.

To set patch Spot 1 empty, select first the patch


Spot 1 (1).

Select now Not Used from the unit row (1).

The new sequence for the colorbar is set:


Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, EMPTY, SpotColor1
(Pantone 485 C).

The colobar name is changed. It ends with


_arranged (1).

The new colorbar sequence is shown in the colobar


preview (2).

5 User Interface Scan Mode

5.1 Print Mode


In the print mode (1), the buttons relevant for the
print production are available (2). For example,
initiate with the Measure button a scan. Change with
the OK-Sheet button to the OK-Sheet mode. Etc.

5.2 Job Mode


In the job mode (1), the buttons relevant for the job
management are available (2). For example, initiate
with the Paper White button a paper white
calibration. Use the Set Up button to manage the
current job or to load a new job.

5.3 Scan the Press Sheet


Press the measure button (1) to start a
measurement. After measuring, number increases
by one (2). Toggle between the scans with the up
and down buttons.

5.4 Density Display


Show the density value for each scanned patch.
Use the Relative / Absolute button to toggle
between the absolute measured value or the display
of the difference between the target value and the
measured value.

5.4.1 Density Display Absolute Mode


Select the absolute position (1) and the absolute
density values are shown (2).

5.4.2 Density Display Relative Mode


Select the relative position and the relative density
values are shown (3).

5.5 Toggle between Dot Gain, Delta E and Gray


Depending on the license, the measurement device
and the colorbar, InkzoneMove show the data as:
Density
Dot Gain (quarter, half and three quarter tones)
Delta E
Gray
Toggle with the button (1) between the data types.

Delta E view.

Dot Gain View. Toggle between the quarter, half and


three quarter tone with the buttons at (1).

5.6 Single Zone View


Click on one single measurement to get the Zone
Info dialog (1). The information dialog shows the
targets and the measured density and spectro
values.

Set the OK-Sheet 5

5.7 Set the OK-Sheet


Use the button at position (1) to set the currently
selected measurement as an OK-Sheet.

The next measurement (1) shows the difference


between the OK-Sheet and the new measurement
data.

5.8 Change Temporarily the Target Density


Click on the unit color (1) to open the target density
setup window.

Change here the target value by clicking on the


current value (1). A virtual keyboard appears where
the new value is entered.
