OPTION: 1 PATLIPUTRA MUSEUM AT BIHARSITE


The new Pataliputra Museum will be situated on a 13.2 acre (approximately
53,000 sq mts)site in central Patna.

INTRODUCTION
Pataliputra is the name of the ancient city that is today

s Patna. Pataliputra was the capital of the first unified Indian kingdom and the
great Magadhan Empire. The new PataliputraMuseum will focus on the
contributions from this area to the evolution of the history andcivilization of
the Indian Subcontinent. The collections to be displayed in the
new museuminclude many great and important stone, bronze and terra-cotta
sculptures and artefacts thattell the stories of ancient Pataliputra and the lasting
impact these cultures have had on theregion, India and the World. Stories of the
Buddha, Mahavir, Ashoka and other greatpolitical, literary and scientific world
leaders from this period will be told in the newmuseum.
The Department of Art, Culture and Youth (DACY) along with the Building
ConstructionDepartment (BCD) of the Government of the State of Bihar is
planning to develop aniconic
museum in Patna, which stands on the site of the capital of Indias ancient
Magad
hanEmpire, Pataliputra. This new facility, the Bihar Museum, will focus on the
contributionsmade by this empire and the entire region of Bihar to the evolution
of history and civilizationin the Indian subcontinent and throughout Asia. It will
be developed on a 13.2 acre sitelocated on Bailey Road in Patna. Six spacious
government bungalows, housing a universityand a church among others, spread
over 13.2 acres would be demolished to build themuseum.
AIM

To showcase the conserved relics and the remains of Patliputra which would
showmagnificent contribution of Bihar to the evolution of Indian subcontinent.

specializedcuratorialaspectsofhistoryoraparticularlocality,othersaremoregeneral.Suchmuseums
contain a wide range of objects, including documents, artefacts of all
kinds, art,archaeologicalobjects.Itwouldbemypleasuretodesignsuchanbuildingwhichwilhave
anhistorical importance.

OPTION: 2 I.T. PARK in LUCKNOWSITEINTRODUCTION
Lucknow Industrial Development Authority (LIDA) has been
established by Government of Uttar Pradesh under the
provisions of .Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Act-1976.,
withan objective to accelerate the rate of industrial
development in the State by providingenabling infrastructure in
the area notified under this Authority which lies between
thedistricts of Lucknow and Unnao. As a part of this endeavour
to promote industrial

development, LIDA gas decided to promote an Information


Technology Park (the Project)adjacent to Lucknow - Kanpur
National Highway No 25 on the Bijnaur Road is spread on
anarea of approx. 1,30,000 sq. mt..The site is about 14 km from
the Lucknow International Airport and about 25 km
fromLucknow Railway station. Lucknow International Airport is
well connected by air with Delhi,Mumbai and Hyderabad.
Several International flights to Sharjah, Dubai, Muscat and
Dohaare operated from here. Lucknow has Indian Institute of
Management, King George MedicalCollege, Sanjay Gandhi Post
Graduate Institute, Ram Manohar Lohia Post Graduate
Instituteof Medical Science, Central Drug Research Institute,
etc. Lucknow also houses more than 80IT/ITes units which are
engaged in the development of software and export.
SoftwareTechnology Park (STPI) is also established here to
provide administrative support andincubation facility. Indian
Institute of Technology, Kanpur and more than 20 engineering
andmanagement institutes are established in Lucknow to
support the need for requisite trainedman power.

AIM

The aim is to create an architectural vocabulary which can


reflect the multifariouscharacters and provide an integrated
space in which the built and landscaped areawould be seen as
the single entity with appropriate and Conducive environment.

The project also aims at an effort to create an office


environment that does not abusethe urban space wherein an
Office space in urban setup is rendered into onabsolutely
introvert space in terms of social interaction within a
community of theworkers.

Every man needs a special environment that imparts


tranquillity to the spirit and stimulant tomind. India has earned
itself a reputation of an IT superpower. Software Technology
Parks of India has played a seminal role in accomplishing this
status. Today, STPIs across over thecountry are synonymous
with excellent Infrastructure and Statutory support aimed
atfurthering growth of Information Technology in the country.
