Missing data, if any, may be suitably assumed.

1A. For the given circuit in fig. 1a, plot Vo. Assume ideal diode (03)
1B. Design a circuit to obtain the output voltage waveform shown in fig.1b for the given input
waveform and justify. Assume silicon diode. (03)
1C. Design a voltage divider circuit for the data VCC=18V, VCE = 7V,Rs=1K Ic=1mA, dc=80,
S(Ico)7, Rc=3.3k, VBE=0.7. (04)
2A. With a neat circuit schematic derive an expression for ripple factor at the output of full wave
rectifier with C-filter. (03)
2B. Compare MOSFET and BJT emphasizing more on region of operation and characteristics. (04)
2C. Find the value of R for the circuit shown in fig. 2c .Given VT =25mV, VD =0.6V at 1mA.All
the diodes are identical. (03)
3A. For a cascaded amplifier shown in fig. 3a, Determine Av, Ri, Avs=Vo/Vs using approximate
h-parameter model. Assume both the transistors are identical. hie=1.1k hfe=50. Draw the
approximate h-model. (05)
3B. A 7V zener diode is used for voltage regulation. The zener used has following specification
Vz=7V at 30mA, Rz=1, Izmax=300mA, Izmin = 15mA. The input voltage varies between
9V to 15V. Draw the circuit with necessary components. Find the value of Rs and %line
regulation. (05)
4A. Determine the output voltage and range of the resistance R in amplifier circuit shown in
Fig.Q4A. Such that MOSFET is working in saturation region.
Assume VTH=1V and (02)
4B. Using Miller theorem determine the voltage gain, input resistance and output resistance of
the MOSFET amplifier circuit shown in Fig Q.4B. Assume VTH=1V and
,VA=-50V (04)
4C. Draw the small signal equivalent circuit of the cascaded amplifier shown in Fig.Q.4C and
hence calculate the overall voltage gain. Assume gm1=gm2=1mA/v2 (04)
5A. Four identical cascaded amplifier have an overall upper 3dB frequency of 50KHz and a
lower 3 dB frequency of 50Hz.What are fL and fH of each stage? (02)
5B. From the fundamental derive an expression for the lower cut-off frequency of a RC coupled
amplifier due to coupling capacitors (04)
5C. With a neat circuit schematic explain the working of improved series voltage regulator. Also
mention the condition to be satisfied. (04)
6A. A push-pull class B power amplifier uses the ideal transformer having a total turns of 160
turns on primary and 50 turns on secondary. It must be capable of delivering 25W to 4
speaker, under maximum conditions. Draw the circuit schematic and hence estimate the
value of VCC required for producing the voltage swing. (03)
6B. Design a -10V regulated DC voltage supply from an -18V DC source using 7809 voltage
regulator. Assume Iadj=100A, Feedback resistance R1=1K. (02)
6C. With a neat circuit schematic explain the working of transformer coupled class A power
amplifier. Hence derive the expression for the maximum efficiency of it. (05)
