machine interface.
29.7 Appropriate personal protective equipment is used.

30 Crown Inspection - Repair:

Lifting tools using the hoist:
30.1 The zone is marked, prohibiting access to the work area in which the suspended load
could fall.
30.2 Personnel are strapped to a fixed point (eyebolts, frame...) before opening the door.
30.3 Touching the hoist chain is avoided when it is moving.
Preparing for work:
30.4 The trapdoor in the upper platform is closed
30.5 Extreme caution is used to avoid entrapments between objects in motion.
30.5 Power is cut off from the previous cut off point in order to make the connections.
30.6 Electric equipment lock systems are used according to GD008414.
30.7 Operations that imply Electrical Risk are performed by qualified personnel or personnel
that are otherwise authorized.
30.8 Extreme caution is exercised when working with hand tools, using safety goggles and
machine safe gloves.

31 General Operations:
31.1 Before powering up for the first time, work specifications are thoroughly followed,
"ELECTRICAL CHECKS PRIOR TO POWERING UP."
31.2 It is prohibited to remain in the tower during the first power-up test (sending electricity
from the substation and confirming that the switchgear handle does not trip).
31.3 Working in the machine is not permitted width winds in excess of 20 m/s and access to
the machine is limited to 25 m/s when rearming equipment, etc.
31.4 When mechanically handling switchgears or when confirming the phase sequence
during power up, the required PPEs are used (insolating stools or mats, dielectric gloves
and face shield).
31.5 For cone operations the nacelle is first positioned at 90 according to wind direction, the
locking pins are used to lock the rotor and any operation is limited to 15 m/s for G5X
machines and to 12 m/s for G8X machines.
31.6 Before getting inside the nose cone to do work that requires staying on the inside with
the pitch set back to 5, insert the safety Shafts from the outside using the extensions.
31.7 In order to prevent possible entrapments, hanging jewelry, long hair not put up, loose
clothing, etc. is not permitted when checking the transmission system (greasing the yaw
bearing), checking the pinion bearing set, or greasing the yaw teeth.
31.8 Before greasing the bearings while the machine is rotating at "X" revolutions, make sure
that the Cardan shaft's protective housing is in place.
31.9 To check the pitch system, confirm that the machine is locked and that all operators stay
far away from the emergency stops.
31.10 To grease the drivesham (Cardan sham) joints, the rotor is locked before the protective
housing is removed.
31.11 When checking the wind vane and anemometer from the outside of the nacelle or
verifying that the fiberglass is protected, it is necessary to use a safety harness strapped
in to the two bars on the upper part of the nacelle.
31.12 The brake revision must be done with the machine stopped and the rotor locked when it
is necessary to work on the mechanical system.
31.13 The overspeed test must be performed from the base of the tower and never from
nacelle.
31.14 To begin the capacitor inspection, confirm that voltage has been drained from the
capacitors and that ten minutes have passed since this was done in order to alleviate the
consequences of possibly making direct contact with the accumulated voltage.
31.15 Before starting up the machine, make sure that the capacitor cabinet door is closed, in
order to reduce the consequences of a possible blast of electric energy.
31.16 Upon checking the rubber components or tightening the terminals in the generator
terminal box, the machine is checked to ensure it is locked and the power supply to the
rotor is disconnected (before handling the generator terminal block, check with a
multimeter to make sure that power is shut off).

32 Operations in Electrical Facilities

32.1 There is a worker who properly trained on first aid in case of electrical shock or burns.
32.2 The workers are authorized (Low Voltage) or qualified (High Voltage).
32.3 The work area is clearly delimited and defined, there is adequate space in which to work
with easy access and good lighting.
32.4 The environment is not too humid, and no work is done under adverse weather
conditions.
32.5 Work tools are properly insulated.
32.6 Measuring components and equipment are in perfect condition and do not have any
improvised additions.

33 Operations in Electrical Facilities Without Voltage

33.1 Power is shut off appropriately (required in High Voltage and in Low Voltage facilities
that, due to induction or other reasons, could accidentally power up):
1. The installation where work will be performed is completely disconnected from
electricity, grounded and short-circuited with visible devices.
2. Accidental reconnection is made impossible (lockout, tagout, etc.).
3. The facility is checked to ensure power is off.
4. If some are areas are powered up, these are protected with insulation screens,
barriers, covers or protections.
33.2 Once the work is complete, voltage is powered up only after all workers (except those
that must necessarily remain) have left the area and all tools and equipment used have
been collected.

34 Operations in Electrical Facilities With Voltage

34.1 The work is done by qualified personnel.
34.2 The worker is in a stable position with both hands free.
34.3 Workers use appropriate PPEs.
34.4 The workers do not carry metal objects (necklaces, bracelets, rings,...), that can
accidentally make contact with live components.
34.5 In HIGH VOLTAGE operations the workers are qualified and authorized, in writing by the
businessperson, to do the type of work considered, including the sequence of
operations. In each case the following are indicated:
1. safety measures
2. material
3. protective measures to be taken and the circumstances that may require shutting
down work.
34.6 In HIGH VOLTAGE operations, the operator is properly insulated from the environment.
34.7 If there are live components near the work that is being done, said components are
protected with insulating barriers, screens or covers. If this is not possible, the workers
are informed of the existing risks, work area limits and measures to be taken to avoid
entering the danger zone.
