Gray & Adams Ltd was established
over 50 years ago in 1957 in
Fraserburgh. Although commonly
known in the UK & Internationally for
design and manufacture of quality
refrigerated and dry freight vehicle
bodies we began as a vehicle body
repairer carying out repairs to early car
& commercial vehicles. This rapidly
advanced to include the manufacture
‘of commercial vehicle bodies in the late
fifties - early sixties and grew to its
present size today which includes five
factories across the UK & Northern
Ireland.
We have Accident repair facilities in all
five depots which have grown with
reinvestment to remain in the forefront
of the industry to service all from private
‘owners to commercial vehicle fleet
operators,

THE PURPOSE BUILT 13 BAY COMMERCIAL VEHICLE
REPAIR WORKSHOP IN FRASERBURGH
In 2008 we realised that our present repair workshops were just
far {oo small and undertooled for the present day demands of
fleet operators
‘A new purpose built workshop measuring 80m long providing 13.
‘work bays which are 21.5m long plus office, area was planned,
built and operational by January 2009.
A budget of £1.5m was spent on the project which included a
Brake Test Unit, a new world market leading commercial vehicle
“Josam’ Frame Press, Chassis Repair Jig, Cab Bench Jig, Laser
Measuring System For Chassis & Wheel Alignment, Induction
Heater, A full Height Commercial Vehicle Spray Booth.
Three Workbays plus Josam Workbays are also equiped with
overhead craning.

JOSAM INDUCTION HEATER
Josam, a pioneer in the development of heat
treatment for axles, chassis frames, crane jbs etc,
offers a new system with induction heating. This
method is not only reliable and safe but gives a
cleaner working environment restricting damage
to paintwork as it only heats the area where the
stylus has been applied as the heat is induced -
not applied, giving accurate controlled penetration.

Josam cab bench is the mostetficient equipment of its kind
for straightening and repairing damaged truck cabs.
The Josam cab bench is a strong and stable aligning jig
which simplifies cab repair. Moveable mounting points make
it easier to mount even severely damaged cabs. The base
of the cab is pushed and pulled hydraulically intoits correct
position
Adapter sets are available for sixty different cab models
manufactured by MERCEDES, MAN, IVECO, RENAULT,
‘SCANIA, VOLVO, DAF, FORD AND HINO.
Josam press/pull lowers equipped with extended hi-reach
beams, a stay and other special accessories assist in
straightening and repairing the cabs vertical frame members
and roof section

Fraserburgh to carry out the repairs.
All complete. Vehicle ready for collection atter repairs which
included manufacture of in house bespoke parts.
All livery, warning signs & specialist vessel checks were
carried out before handover to the owner.

were removed to gain access to repair the chassis
frame on the Josam chassis frame repair system,
while the cab was repaired on the cab frame.

COMMERCIAL REFINISHING
‘Anew Commercial vehicle spraybooth was built into
the repair facility to refinish accident damaged vehicles
as well as any other requirement including full repaints
into fleet colours.
