INTRODUCTION

Welcome to General Instrument’s CFT-2100 set-top terminal, your


connection to cable entertainment. The CFT-2100 features an easy-to-use
on-screen display system to view channel listings, set channel control
passwords and many other options that will enhance your television viewing.
This guide introduces you to the CFT-2100 and provides instructions for set
up and operation.

INTRODUCTION

Front Panel
The front-panel control keys can be used to operate the CFT-2100. The LED
displays the current channel number, time of day and special operating
messages. The front-panel control keys are described further in the section,
“Using the Remote Control.”

• Press F and then press MUTE to set the best stereo level volume (press VOL IorJ to return to normal)
• Press F and then press DELETE to clear favorite channel settings
• Press F and then press SELECT to cancel an Impulse Pay-Per-View event
• Press F and then press CATV to display the sleep timer screen (for complete instructions see the section,
“Timers”)

Disabling the Remote Control


NOTE You can temporarily disable your remote control:

Installing Batteries
NOTE Before you can use the remote control, you must install two AAA (1.5-volt)

To remove favorite channels:

from the favorite channel list and then press SELECT.

4 Press DISPLAY to exit.
