Momentum
Momentumisadynamicalquantity,carriedbyallmaterialobjects,whileinmotion.Inphysics,
momentumisthecalculatedproductofthescalarmassofabodyanditsvectorvelocity.All
movingbodieshavemomentum,regardlessoftheirsizeorvelocity.Therulesofmomentumapply
universallytoallobjectsintheuniverse.Aswithmanyscientificterms,momentumisoftenadoptedby
thegeneralpublicwithwidermeaningsdescribingthingssuchaspoliticalfortune(e.g.,CandidateX's
campaignisgainingmomentum)ortheprogressofsportingevent(e.g.,TeamYseemstohave
momentumonitsside.).Thedefinitionofmomentuminphysicsismuchmorespecificandprecisely
definedbymathematics.
