MyinternshipwasmajorlyfocusedonArchitectureandInteriordesign,rangingf r o m small
scaletoalargescaleprojects.IgotgreatexposuretoArchitectureandInteriors,rightfrom
conceptualisationtoGFCdrawings. Handlinga f a i r amount of projects(Resorts, Bungalows,Site
Offices,ResidentialInteriorsetc.)whichwassomethingIwaspreciselylookingfor.

Conclusion
Thepastyearofmyinternshiphavebeenveryvaluableforme.S.A.G.IArchitectshasoffered
meopportunitiestolearnanddevelopmyselfinmanyareas.Igainedexperienceinmanagingtime
duringworkoverload.AlotofthetasksandactivitiesthatIworkedonduringmyinternshiptenure
helpedmeagreatdealinunderstandingthebasicsofprofessionalpractice.
MymentorduringthisinternshipwasAr.AkashDudhe,whomIhavelearntalotfromduring
myinternshipperiod.Workingwiththreeprestigiousdesignfirmsandstartinghisownpractice
atanearlyage,hehadalotknowledge in designingresidentialandcommercialprojects.


Reflection
WorkingasaJuniorArchitectforS.A.G.IArchitectshelpedmegainknowledgeoftheimportant
aspectsinpracticeanddevelopthenecessaryskillsrequiredforbeingagooddesigner.Beingmysecond
Professionalpractice,Iwasabletomakeuseofmypreviousexperienceatvarioustimesduringthecourseof
thisinternship.WhereinmypreviousinternshipatShashiPrabhuArchitectsandAssociates
(S.P.A.A.E.C)Iwasworkingonlargescaleprojectsviz.clubhouses,hospitals,etc.Even
thoughmyresponsibilitywaslimitedtoaninternlevel,theknowledgeIgainedwasfocused
moreontothedetailsofarchitecturebymakingworkingdrawings,detaildrawings,BOQs
etc.ThissetofexperiencehelpedmetremendouslywithmyinternshipatS.A.G.IArchitects
whereIgottheopportunitytoworkonprojectsrightfromaconceptualstagetoexecution.
Theknowledgegainedinmycollegeeducationalsoreallyhelpedmeinmydesignprocess.Ilearnthowto
researchthemarket,targetgroupsandhowtocomeupwithdesignstrategies.
Halfwaythroughmyinternship,thequalityofmyworkimproveddrastically.Researchingdataand
exploringnewtypesofprojectshelpedmealotinunderstandingthecurrenttrendsindesign.Alsotaking
partinalotofdiscussion/brainstorming,Clientmeetings,sitevisits,ProductDemosthatwereheldatwork
gavemeafrontdeskviewoftheprofession.Iwasallottedwithdesignfreedomwhichgavemethe
satisfactionofseeingmydrawingsturnintoactualprojectsatthesametimealsotaughtmeto
takeconsciousdesigndecisions.
ThisinternshipwasdefinitelybeneficialformeandIamgratefulthatIgottoexperienceandlearn
manythings.
