Local area network (LAN) & Console to console

With this tutorial, I will be showing you how to set up a LAN network on your DSs that will allow for
two more or more users to play together within close vicinity.

Step 1
Firstly, you will need to power on your DS, now dependant on the model you have it should be
clearly labelled on your DS. In this instance, we will be using the DSI which has its power button
clearly shown on the front side of the ds at the bottom left.

Step 2
Secondly you will need to launch the game on start-up this is easily done as when youve turned on
your DS the game will be clearly displayed on your screen, once you have launched the game you
will have three options. The option you want to select is Sudoku download; this will allow you to play
with other people in close vicinity by creation a LAN

Step 3
Once youve done these steps the person whom is trying to join you will need to navigate to DS
download play once here the person will have their DSI look ing for an available download.

Step 4
Once you are on the sudoku download page and your friend is on the DS download play you will be
able to start the process of joining each other as the friends DS w ill be able to connect via a LAN.
Once this is done the number of players that have joined will be clearly displayed on the hosts DS in
our case it was 2, once this is done you will need to click the next button at the top and the game
will start.

PC Device Driver installation

Drivers are used on every pc as theyre essentially the translator between a device and programs
that use the device. Installing a driver is pretty easy as you only need to download your respective
graphics card manufacturers software for example AMDS crimson software t hat will detect your
drivers and look for updates. Or if youre using an intel GPU you can search for the specific driver
youre looking for and download the installer.

Step 1
Firstly you will need to locate your downloaded installer which would usually be in the downloads
folder.

Step 2
For step 2 you should run the installer and windows will prompt you to ask if you want this app to
make changes to your device and you should click yes. Then you will be prompted with the option
to install the driver or extract the contents of the update you will need to click install.

Step 3
After step 2 you will then be prompted with a warning saying th at you should close all programs
before you continue and then you will need to click next. Then you will be brought to the licence
agreements of which just agree too.

Step 4
After the last step you will be brought to the installation progress tab where it will install the driver,
you will then need to once finish click on the next button. After this you will be prompted to restart
your machine does this and then your driver should be successfully installed.

Once youre connected to the internet and have launched your game you should then b e able to
play online this can be done usually by simply clicking play or by using the options given by that
game.

Installing a mouse
Step 1
Firstly you will need to find a wireless mouse to install, you will then n eed to locate your USB ports
on your computer, and these will be found on the front of your computer and will look like the
image below.

Next you just need to plug the USB into the USB port and your mouses driver will install, your
mouse should work after this.

Installing a cabled keyboard

Step 1
The first thing you need to do is find an appropriate keyboard to install, for this we will be using a
dell keyboard although most keyboards install in the same way.

Secondly you will need to locate the USB ports, these ports are usually located on the front of your
PC then you need to plug the keyboard into the PC and youre done.

Step 1
Firstly you will need to find a wireless device to install, for this installation we will be using a wireless
mouse. Similar to that of the wired installation you will need to look for the USB ports on the front of
your pc.

Step 3
With this step you will need to locate the USB ports on your PS4 which can be found on the front
right side of it then you will ne ed to plug in the micro usb cable into the ps4.

This is the final step, what you will need to do is locate the power/home button on your PS4
controller and press it once youve turned on your PS4 and plugged the micro USB cable in.

Console to display

Step 1
For this step by step we will be hooking up the Xbox 360 to a display, firstly you will need to locate
the HDMI cable for your Xbox 360 your HDMI cable will look like the image below then you will need
to locate the HDMI slot on your Xbox itself

Step 2
With this step you will have to actually connect these cables into the Xbox itself and the monitor.

Install and configure PC and Console Games

Console - PlayStation 3

Step 1
Installation of a PlayStation three game is fairly simple. Firstly you will need to press the PS3 disc
drive eject button as to check to see if anything is inside it if not you can then insert the disc.

Step 2
Once youve inserted the disc you will need to navigate to the ps3 game tab and go down to the disc
and click on it, this will launch the game and it will then be fully installed.

Step 3
In this step we will start configuring the game, firstly we need to navigate from the main menu to
the options tab, for the game in question we will need to go to extras then to options.

Next we will start configuring some aspects about the game, f irstly we will configure some of the
controls to a different control scheme this may be more comfortable for you than the default control
scheme. For example we changed it from default to legacy controls.

Step 5
The second thing we will be configuri ng will be that of inverted looking, this makes it so if you move
the analoug stick on your controller it will look the opposite way to that of what you pushed, some
people prefer this over the default.

For this installation I will be showing you how to install Euro truck simulator Demo.

Step 1
First of all locate the installer that you had downloaded and then proceed to launch it, after youve
launched it you will be prompted with a message saying Do you want to allow this app to make
changes to your PC? Click yes.

After pressing yes you will be asked what language you want to install the game in you should select
the language you prefer and then press ok. After this you will then be taken to the setup wizard and
you should click next.

Step 3
After clicking next on the setup wizard you will need to accept the license agreement, after that you
will be taken to the area where you can choose the installation folder of which you should leave it to
the default download area. Click install on the install location.

Step 4
After these steps you will be taken to the installation progress when completed click next and then
on the next page you will be prompted with the finished screen you should then click finish.

The next step will be the configuration of the game itself, after you click finish the game will open
the launcher application which is where you can alter many things in this case we went to the
advanced tab and changed the resolution to that of our screen and made it run in fullscreen.

Step 6
In this step we will be enabling hardware acceleration under audio settings this is done by simply
clicking on the box to check it.

In this step we will be changing an option within the game, for this example weve disabled interior
mirrors in the game, you can change any setting within here to enhance your gaming experience by
moulding around your preferences but weve done this as an example.

Step 2
For the second step you wi ll start the installation and see the progress of said installation, after this
is done click next. After this is done you will be prompted with yet another Do you want to allow
the following program to install software on this computer? click yes. Then it will be installed and all
you have to do is click finish

Step 3
For this step we will be launching the game and configuring it. Firstly, we will need to launch the
game, from there we will need to go to the drop down menu and go to launch options. The first
configuration I had made was that of the game version. I made this change because it enabled me to
play on a version that I wanted. Secondly I configured the games resolution at launch so I did not
have to redo it when I launched it.

PS4
Q: Why does my ps4 not read my games disc?
A: Your disc may have fingerprints or scratches on or there may be an error in the
trays hardware. You could fix this by either cleaning the disc making sure its rid of
any finger prints and for the hardware issue you could contact the supplier to see if
you can get it fixed.

Q: Why does my PS4 not connect to the internet?

A: Go to the ps4 menu and go to the settings tab from there go to network> set up
internet connection. After this go from wifi > custom > select network then enter
password. Then enter your primary DNS to that of 8 8 8 8 and the secondary one as
8 8 4 4. After this you will need to test your internet connection so go to MTU
settings then to proxy server then test internet connection.

Q: Why does my controller not connect to the ps4?

A: Your PS4 controller is either dead or it is not connected to the PS4 yet. Regarding
the PS4 controllers power all you need to do is charge it, this is done via plugging in
the usb charger into the ps4 and then plugging the lead into the PS4 controller.
Secondly for the controller not yet being connected you will need to connect the usb
charger to the controller and to the PlayStation and it will pair it.

PC

Q: Why does my pc not connect to the internet?

A: Firstly you will need to check what type of internet connection you are using for
example either Ethernet or wireless. For Ethernet connections you wi ll need to
make sure your Ethernet cable is properly plugged into your PC and the router and if
this does not work make sure that your router is working properly via the lights it
displays. If youre using a wireless internet connection via a dongle you wi ll need to
check if the device is even recognised if not you will need to download the driver
for that wireless device this can be done by going onto another device
downloading the driver installer and then transferring it to that PC via an USB stick.
If this fails then check the router and see if its working and if this fails yet again it
may be a hardware issue with your USB port or your dongle itself.

Q: Why does my sound not work?

A: Your sound may not work because either your sound output port is brok en or the
device itself is broken or your sound driver may be broke. To fix these issues you
can either update your drivers or reinstall them, secondly regarding the output you
may need to replace your sound card and lastly you may need to also replace the
output device youre using for the audio.

Q: Why is my monitor not working?

A: Your monitor may not be working because you may not have all the cables
plugged in, firstly check if your monitor is receiving power and that your
DVI/HDMI/DATA cable is properly plugged into the pc and monitor. If this still does
not fix your issue you may need to buy a new monitor as it may be broken.

Feedback form

This is an image of a configured ps3 to meet the requirements of the person whom I had altered the
system for. I had asked Kieran a series of questions regarding the control scheme and asked him
what he preferred, firstly i went to the options and asked him what control scheme he preferred and
then I changed it to his needs. Then I altered the screens brightness as the game was pretty dark and
hard to see so in turn I had made the screen brighter as to enable Kieran to see m ore clearly. Lastly I
had altered the systems volume as it was a bit quiet and made it quite hard to here instructions given
by the game.

I had Jacob configure the PlayStation 3 for me to meet my requirements, firstly he had asked me
what control scheme I felt comfortable with and I then responded with one of the options that had
been given, secondly he altered the screens brightness because it was quite hard to see and would
be near impossible to play with if the screens brightness wa s left what it was at. And then finally he
configured the sound as to make it louder as it was a bit quiet and made it hard to hear what the
