Identify the platform:

Our county is a Microsoft 365 School District, the Microsoft 365 Suite will be compatible when
students login using their student account information. Both Android and iOS systems can
support Microsoft 365 apps, therefore if students bring in their device with the apps downloaded
they can work from their device and share it within the 365 platform. As of this past school year
each of our teachers and students also have accounts within Google, therefore students can
download Google apps to their device to work and share it in Google Classrooms. Teachers and
students can work within the Google Classroom to assign work, projects, and share information.
Both teachers and students are also able to create and share multimedia presentations and
projects within Google Classroom. Moving into the 2017-2018 school year in addition to these
two platforms we will also have a county learning management system for student digital
portfolios.

Current Technology Adoption and Accommodating Students without Devices:

Last school year 2016-2017, each grade level had a grade level laptop cart containing 30 laptops.
This provided each classroom, on each grade level, with approximately 7 laptops, in addition to
the laptops each class were also assigned two iPads. If students did not provide their own digital
device they were provided with one of these digital tools. If there was still not enough digital
devices students worked in pairs within the classroom. Teachers could also check out 10 iPads
or 10 Chromebooks from the Media Center.

In 2017-2018, each of our students will be provided their own digital device. Each student in
Kindergarten through second grade will have an iPad assigned to them and students in grades
third through twelfth will be assigned a Chromebook. In the case that a student device is not
working we will have the iPads we have previously purchased available in each classroom, as
well as additional Chromebooks.
