Lesson Aims:
1. to activate pupils background knowledge and vocabulary related to their face
2. to develop the skill of speaking and asking questions regarding ones parts of the face;
3. to develop the skill of listening for general understanding;
4. to develop the skill of reading;
Materials: coursebook, activity book.
Methods: brainstorming, presentation, conversation.
By the end of the lesson, the pupils will have been able: to activate pupils background
knowledge and vocabulary related to their face, to develop the skill of speaking and asking
questions regarding ones parts of the face, to develop the skill of listening for general
understanding, to develop the skill of reading.
Activity 1 Interaction T-P, P-T 5
WARM-UP
- the T asks the Ps to listen and repeat some new words that they are going to hear and
learn today
- the Ps repeat the words and try to anticipate their meaning by looking at the face parts
the teacher indicates while speaking
Activity 2 Interaction T-P, P-T, P.W. 5
POINT AND SAY
- the Ps are asked to point at their own face parts as the T points at his/her face parts
- the T asks the Ps to look at his/her deskmate and to try to point the face parts they hear on
his/her deskmate's face without hurting each other
- the Ps are helped by the T if necessary
Assumptions: the Ps are familiar to ones face parts and they are able to name and recognise, at
least, some parts of their face
Predicted problems: none.
