Lesson Aims:
1. to activate pupils background knowledge and vocabulary related to their face
2. to develop the skill of speaking and asking questions regarding ones parts of the face;
3. to develop the skill of listening for general understanding;
4. to develop the skill of reading;
Materials: coursebook, activity book.
Methods: brainstorming, presentation, conversation.

By the end of the lesson, the pupils will have been able: to activate pupils background
knowledge and vocabulary related to their face, to develop the skill of speaking and asking
questions regarding ones parts of the face, to develop the skill of listening for general
understanding, to develop the skill of reading.
Activity 1 Interaction T-P, P-T 5
WARM-UP
- the T asks the Ps to listen and repeat some new words that they are going to hear and
learn today
- the Ps repeat the words and try to anticipate their meaning by looking at the face parts
the teacher indicates while speaking
Activity 2 Interaction T-P, P-T, P.W. 5
POINT AND SAY
- the Ps are asked to point at their own face parts as the T points at his/her face parts
- the T asks the Ps to look at his/her deskmate and to try to point the face parts they hear on
his/her deskmate's face without hurting each other
- the Ps are helped by the T if necessary

LISTEN AND COLOUR:
- the T asks the Ps to read the task of exercise 3, page 43, from the activity book and draw
the parts of the face as indicated in the exercise
- the T asks the Ps to translate the words, then to colour the parts of the face as required
- the Ps successfully solve this exercise by colouring the parts of the face as indicated in
the activity book

LISTENING
- the Tasks the Ps to listen carefully and then the T reads the sentences from exercise
number 4, page 43 for the Ps(activity book)
- the Ps number the parts of the face as indicated by the teacher
- the Ps are asked to translate the sentences the T pronounces

WRITING
- the T asks the Ps to write in their notebooks the new words they have learned
- the Ps open their notebooks and write the new words with capital letters

LISTEN AND COLOUR
- the Ps are asked to listen and solve exercise 5 from page 43 by colouring the parts of the
face as indicated in the activity book

LEARN A TPR SONG
- the T will sing to the Ps the song "Head, shoulders, knees and toes" and he/she will ask
them to pay attention one more time at how he/she pronounces the parts of the face
- the T and the Ps will sing the song several times

ASSIGNING HOMEWORK
- the T asks the Ps to draw their mothers and mention their face parts in the drawing and/or
any other body part they know

Assumptions: the Ps are familiar to ones face parts and they are able to name and recognise, at
least, some parts of their face
