One particular practice in Ramadan that is not found in other months is the fasting of
Ramadan. Therefore Ramadan is also referred to as Syahrush Shiyam.
O ye who believe, are required of you fasting as it was required of those before you, that ye
may fear. (Surah Al-Baqarah: 183)
Prophet Adam. After being sent down from heaven repent to Allah swt and fast for three
days every month. That is what became known as the ayyamul bidh fasting that sunna to be
done on every 13, 14 and 15 hijriyah every month. The Prophet David also performed the
fast. Fasting is even harder; Ie one day of fasting and one day breaking. This is what we then
know with the fast of David, the sunnah of the law for the people of Muhammad. In the
book of al-Jami 'li Ahkamil Qur'an, Imam Al-Qurthubi mentions that Allah has obliged fasting
to Jews for 40 days, while to the Prophet Isa for 50 days.
Ramadan fasting is mandatory on the basis of Al-Qur'an, Sunnah, and Ijma '. He began to be
obligated on Monday the 1st of Shya'ban second year hijriah.
The Qur'anic proof of the obligatory fasting of Ramadan is the word of Allah SWT:
O ye who believe, are required of you fasting as it was required of those before you, that ye
may fear. (Surah Al-Baqarah: 183)
The month of Ramadan is (the moon) in which it is revealed by the Qur'an, as a guide for
man and explanations of the guidance and the distinction (between right and the vanity).
Which one of you is on that moon, then fast ... "(Surat al-Baqarah: 185)
Islam is built on five things: testifying that there is no god except Allah and Muhammad the
messenger of Allah, establishing the prayers, performing the charity, the pilgrimage, and the
fasting of Ramadan (Narrated by Bukhari Muslim)
First, in the month of Ramadan the doors of heaven are opened and the doors of hell are
closed. Rasulullah SAW said:
It has come to you a blessed month, obliged to you fast, opened the doors of heaven and
closed the doors of hell (HR Ahmad)
Secondly, there are lailatul qadar in it. The continuation of the above hadith reads:
In which there is a night better than a thousand months. Anyone who does not get his
kindness means he has been completely obstructed / out of goodness (HR Ahmad)
Prayer five times, between Friday prayers to the Friday Prayers and Ramadan to the
Ramadan of erasing between the sins, if shunned big sins. (Muslim)
Fourth, the fasting of Ramadan by faith and wishing for the past remission of sin.
Anyone who fasts by faith and hopes the reckoning (reward) will be forgiven his past sins.
(Muttafaq 'Alaih)
