Archiving followed by REORG on table & LOB and index rebuild should be in place for
following objects:
1. BALDAT
2. BALHDR
3. DBTABLOG
4. SWWCNTP0
5. SOFFCONT1
6. REPOLOAD
7. BC_MSG
8. BC_MSG_AUDIT
9. SXMSCLUR
10. SXMSCLUP
11. EDIDC
12. EDI40
13. CDCLS
14. RFBLG
15. TST03
2. Index with poor storage quality (less than 70%) should be rebuild half yearly. Disk
reclaimation can be done by resizing the datafiles and releasing space to filesystem.
3. RFC tables should be purged quarterly followed by REORG, index rebuild and apply fixed
statistics.
4. Capacity Plan for 1 year for disk, memory & CPU should be in place for database. Please
note, CPU can be increased post additional license cost unless pre-fixed virtual pool is
purchased.
5. SBP should be applied every quarter by maintaining current -1 level.
6. DB parameters should be designed as OTLP & APO (Solman/BW) & SBP level. Portal & PI
should be dealt seperately as per Workload imposed.
7. Portals should have 50% extra sessions, processes& PGA configured to take spike loads.
8. DB sessions should be configured as per the Work processes planned on ABAP, JAVA
and Dual stack system type.
9. DB Reorg should be performed as a yearly activity. Tables, indexes & LOBs should be
identified using Segment Advisory at tablespace level.
10. AWR retention should be set to 42 days.
11. Internal Maintenance jobs should be deactivated for Oracle DB.
12. REDO log & Log buffer size should be fixed based on CPU cores.
13. PSAPUNDO should be checked by substracting expired units & not from DB02.
14. Ssystem refreshes should be done with DB in NOARCHIVE LOG mode & extended
DATAFILES to gain speed.
15. Database deadlocks should be analysed based on trace for queries causing the same.
16. DB Verify using Oracle DBV for complete DB Yearly.
17. Enable DB Block checking parameters to identify corruption.
