ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POSITIONS OF POST DOCTORAL FELLOW

The IISER Bhopal invites applications for the positions of Postdoctoral Fellow in the
Department of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences,
Mathematics, and Physics. Hard copy of application in the prescribed format should be sent to the
Head of the respective Departments. However, applicants staying abroad may submit their
application via e-mail. The applicants should send their application directly to the concerned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Ph.D. with First class or equivalent grade
in preceding degree in respective discipline, with a consistently good academic record. Maximum
age is 32 years for general candidates (to be relaxed by 5 years for SC and ST candidates and
persons with physical disability).

The minimum requirement of qualifications and/or experience may be relaxed in respect of
exceptionally outstanding candidates in certain areas.
A mere fulfillment of required minimum qualifications and experience does not entitle a
candidate to be called for discussion.
The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill the posts advertised.
Separate online application must be filled, if a candidate is applying for a Post Doctoral
Fellowship in more than one Department.
The SC/ST candidates called for presentation/discussion will be paid AC3-Tier by Train or
actual expenditure from their place of residence/work and back by the shortest route within India.
Reservation will be as per Govt. of India norms.
Campus facilities for Post Doctoral Fellows will be same as those of UG and PG students.

ACCOMMODATION: Suitable residential accommodation as per Institute rules shall be

provided on the Campus on joining the Institute (this is subject to availability). In case of non
availability of residential accommodation, HRA @ 20% shall be admissible.

LEAVE RULES: Each Postdoctoral Fellow will be entitled for 8 days of casual leave in a calendar
year. They will be entitled for vacation leave during any period of the Institute's vacation or during
mid-term recess up to a maximum of 15 days per semester. Leave not availed in any semester may
be carried over to the next semester up to a maximum of 15 days. Leave on medical grounds
can be granted to for a maximum period of 8 days in a semester on production of valid medical
certificate.

MEDICAL FACILITIES: OPD medical consultation will be provided to the Post Doctoral Fellows
as per the Institute norms. No medical reimbursement is admissible. They are encouraged to have a
medical insurance policy in their name.

INTERVIEWS: The interviews for the Post Doctoral Fellow shall be conducted thrice in a calendar
year.
